Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Titans

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

This still amazes me from that 2011 Colts game. How on earth did this happen?

Because our 2011 defense was The Worst of all of our SB entries...?

(Still should've won that game too, because except for one play and one penalty, the defense didn't perform that badly...)

Barmore was leading the DLine in snaps during their 5 game streak, around 45 snaps a game. Yesterday Barmore's snaps went way down to what he was doing the first 6 wks when they went 2-4, 30'ish snaps. Godchaux yesterday leading the DLine in snaps = crappy runD. Simple as that. Go back to Barmore leading the DLine in snaps, he's their best DLineman. Wonder if he's a little dinged up.

But they won so whatever. I think the score would have felt different if JC didn't pick one in the endzone and then also punch out a fumble on another drive. Giving up 270 rushing yards is unbelievably bad, but somehow the D didn't give up points.
.
Hmm, who was that beating his block and chasing down Tannehill's rollout when he made that ill-advised throw on 4th down?

Wears number 92. Who is that?

Who was that who punched out the football for a fumble - not Jackson, the other one. Wears number 92.

It's one thing to be a dog with a bone, it's quite another when the bone is really a table leg. Ain't no gristle there. Godchaux's been playing well.

He hasn't. Don't even try on a game they gave up 270 rushing yards. No coincidence high Godchaux snaps equals crappy run defense. See the first 6 games when they went 2-4 and this last game

Is anybody worried that our running game was basically non existant?
No.

They had 106 yards at 4.6 per carry (not counting the Tannehill kneel-down).

The Titans held up (they have one of the stoutest front-7's in football), and then they didn't. And Mac lit them up.

I saw a team playing a light box and completely eliminating the short passing game with a team that was trailing.

I saw wide gaps between the down linemen.

I saw Godchaux in on several big plays. And, oh look, he had the most snaps.

What did you see?

And let me add, he's the 24th highest-paid DT in the NFL.

24th.

The top 8 guys are paid 2x, even 3x, what he's paid. He's not elite. He wasn't paid like an elite DT. I'm hoping the Pats have enough back so that they can go big DT with their first pick next year (Jordan Davis, anyone?), but whining every post about a guy doing what he was paid to do is kind of...dumb.

Some good stats on the Pats defense:

of 31 possessions, (possible 217 points) teams are getting 123 points ( 15 TD and 6 FG) or 56.6% of possible points... or 4.0 points per red zone possession...

Well it won't change Monday night. Whatever happens, there will be some new excuse about it
It’s a division game against the relatively healthy defending division champions. Winning that game a bit different than beating the Panthers.

...who just lost their All-Pro CB.

The "Yea buts" never stop for fans looking hard enough for them.

Beating crap/injured teams by 3 touchdowns means the superior team took care of business in convincing fashion.

I keep seeing Barmores name popping up and how he wasn't in the game. Am i the only one that saw that he got hurt in the first half? I commented at the time, on the GDT, that he was slow getting up, everyone had gotten to they're feet and Barmore was still on the ground, and seemed to be having a hard time getting up.

When was the last time a Patriot's D held a QB to under 100 yards (where that QB played the entire game)?
I feel like if Baker played the whole Pats-Browns game he woulda been on this list too.

Huh? The Pats won that game and it was not that close. All those yards and points were in junk time. That game was not as close as the score indicates.

Barmore was added to the injury report Wednesday with “Limited-knee” through Friday. It seems reasonable that he was at less than 100% coming in and he may have tweaked it again. See if he’s on the report tomorrow too.

Ok, enough of the bullshyt. Let's ask the question of you that everyone wants to ask but are afraid to...

****, Marry, Kill is the game. You are the contestant.

Godchaux, Bentley, McDaniels

The three guys who stole your lunch money or something. And remember, Josh has put on a lot of weight, so he is not the eye candy he once was.

He was in there a bunch yesterday. Watching some of the replays he got fooled big time on a couple of the delayed draws which were big gainers. They were in a 3-3-5. Is it what it is.

Becoming a leader on a unit takes time, Duggar has played really well and keeps getting better, his time to lead will come after McCourty retires. Patrick Chung didn’t become a leader until his second go round in NE, patience.
And some guys just aren't leaders...and that too is okay if they produce statistically and are not "anarchists" (non-leaders).

The issue is you do have to have some leaders regardless...some may by example...others by charisma...others by knowledge...others by mitigation....etc, etc. Hopefully Duggar is both player and leader, but as you stated - that is yet to be determined (nor expected).
