Aaron Rodgers positive for COVID (update: “furious” status leaked, claims he didn’t lie, attacks NFL protocols)

And I didn't like Aaron Rodgers the person BEFORE all this went down, NOW I hope he never plays another game and fades into the oblivion he deserves..

1. I hate the LIE he made about being allergic to an ingredient in the vaccines. If that where true he could have easily said that from the beginning, but instead he chose to flat out lie. That comment SCREAMS PR firm spin to me

2. I hate that he cared little about the teammates and friends, as he continued to flaunt mask mandates required of the unvaccinated.

3. I hate that he gave a big FU to all his teammates who have busted THEIR balls for him all season, only to see a key teammate take HIMSELF out of a key game or two. (this one would apply to just about all NFL players who are unvaccinated)

4. I hate him because of what he said on the radio. He literally FLED into the arms of 25% of the terminally stupid Americans who believe that Covid is a scam, the elections were rigged, immigrants are the cause of ALL of our problems, and voting rights should only belong to them.
And to use Dr King's name as a defense, was not only hypocritical and cynical, it was a sacrilege as well.

5. There is a reason why Aaron Rodger who had more physical talent than any other QB before him and only has been to ONE superbowl. When they say he is the most talented QB in NFL history, I don't ever question that. But is he the best, no, and he isn't in the top 10 either, There is a reason why he has had so FEW 4th quarter come backs. So few playoff wins. There is something missing in that guy and we saw it ALL come to the surface this week.

Aaron Rodgers.... You've been EXPOSED.

If you read the numerous “hit piece” articles written about him over the years, sourced mainly by former teammates, some even willing to go in record, nothing here should be surprising. I’ve never seen an active superstar athlete get so much on-record criticism from former teammates, but the more damning part was how few had his back. There simply was no: “Let me tell you about the real Aaron Rodgers, the great guy I know“ stuff.

To dismiss these stories as “oh, these guys just want attention” or “are jealous” is ludicrous. This type of thing never happens anywhere else. Just wait until the Packers no longer care to protect him, deny stories about him, etc.

I reserve judgement on people who don't want to get vaccinated, but the stuff he said on the Joe Rogan's show gradually eroded any respect I had for him. He looked so miserable, like that uncle who has wasted their life drinking nonstop. I will be watching to see how he recovers from this.

The minute I first saw his Discount Double Check commercial I named him Discount Double DORK....after all these years, he sure has lived up to THAT moniker

You’re asking what happens if the federal mandate applies to the NFL?
It will.
Will they bother enforcing it?

Key question for me is:
Do people have a right to say no?

I think we do
The rest is noise.

Getting covid and having to sit for ten days verified his vaxx status.
Vaxed or not if you have covid presently you're quarantined or should be. I can't imagine the NFL not sitting a vaxed player who has contracted it. Having covid is not proof at all of whether or not you've been vaccinated. There seems to be a lot of confusion about that. I'm in health care at a hospital and there has been a number of vaccinated patients that have been admitted with covid. We had at least one patient that died. Here's a public service announcement. No amount of woke, triggered , Karen or other bumper sticker talking points makes a difference to the disease. It's resurging. Do the right thing.

This is from the Packers own Instagram page. Sent it to PFT. (Posting screenshot copy too, as I’m sure they’ll scrub it.)

Wtf? This guy…

Whitlock is a grifter. And why the hell would Brady care? He's vaccinated and quite frankly he probably is happy that a guy that he was compared to all last decade who the media wanted to place over him as the reigning best QB in the league is currently trashing his reputation and hurting his team in the last stretch of his career while he's enjoying a victory lap.

I couldn't believe what I was reading.

It's perfectly OK to be hesitant about getting the vaccine. And if you choose that route, then your employer has protocols that are required . They don't have to be perfect, but it's not that hard either.

But then you do an interview where you pull out all the crazy you can possibly find? Oh my!!! Ridiculously stupid.

Ivermectin is approved for human use for a variety of treatments, and many studies have shown some level of effectiveness in treating COVID patients.

It will.

The rest is noise.

Anytime a conversation about public policy moves into the realm of "rights" it is a dead end at best, and a reinforcement of the worst human traits at worst. Civil society depends on us rising above our selfish, two-year-old lizard brain to focus on responsibilities and shared action, rather than rights.

All the rest is noise.

good for Erin

Can’t believe I’d ever find something to like about him but this is admirable.

This just goes to show how phony you are when you rail about fairness.

The NFL, unlike other sports leagues, created a platform whereby unvaccinated players can play in the 2021 season. This was due to their consideration that some people, like you, don’t want to get the vaccine.

The league and union negotiated for this. The agreement contained protocols. As a member of the union, Rodgers adheres to these protocols.

This wasn’t a mandate. It was work employment agreement. The dozens, if not hundreds, of unvaccinated players agreed to these rules.

Unlike every other unvaccinated player, Rodgers violated the rules.

You admire someone who lies, puts his own self-interest over the team, the league, and the spirit of a contract designed to compromise and give everyone an opportunity. Don’t come crying about federal mandates and talk about extremism, when you yourself aren’t capable of calling out someone from your own “side” no matter how egregious his actions are.

What rules exactly did he violate?

I’m seriously asking. I don’t know what he’s supposed to do differently than unvaccinated players.

People have no right to refuse?

You are just trolling me. It isn't the point. The point is, when people pull out "rights" as the foundation for a position, it will always drag the conversation down to the lowest common denominator. When we do that by habit in society, we put ourselves back into the 16th Century when life, and civilization, demand so much more of us now.

key question for you should be

If they didnt want to bother with the covid protocols established 2 years ago, why didnt they just opt out?
