Aaron Rodgers positive for COVID (update: “furious” status leaked, claims he didn’t lie, attacks NFL protocols)

What rules exactly did he violate?

I’m seriously asking. I don’t know what he’s supposed to do differently than unvaccinated players.

Multiple protocols. Not supposed to travel with the team, but he did. Supposed to be masked during press conferences, but he wasn’t. Supposed to be masked on sidelines in preseason, but he wasn’t. Basically everything the public can see, he’s violated by pretending he’s vaccinated.

That’s the big issue here. And if you weren’t aware of that, then my apologies for assuming that’s what you were referring to. But several people in this thread have pointed out they have a lot more respect for guys like Kyrie, Cole Beasley, etc. for at least standing for what they believe in, whereas Rodgers has been a fraud, and now, predictably, he’s pointing the finger at everyone else. He’s dragging the Packers through the mud now because of all this.

I believe one was the being maskless at media interviews when he's supposed to be. I think the other one and I could be wrong is not wearing a mask after the game is over to salute the opposing team after the game. To reiterate I could care less about his vaccination status or his stance on it and some of the protocols are pretty stupid if you ask me, but he broke them all while lying about it

travel rules for one - unvaxxed players cant travel with the team
indoor mask use - never wore one in his pressers, which are inside the facility
outdoor mask use - never wore on when he was inactive, specifically on the sidelines during preseason games
gatherings - unvaxxed players cannot get together with team mates - ask john wick about this one

etc etc etc

Hmmm

well then I disagree with his willful disregard towards policies he agreed to follow.

I fully support his attitude towards the virus though.

And I didn't like Aaron Rodgers the person BEFORE all this went down, NOW I hope he never plays another game and fades into the oblivion he deserves..

1. I hate the LIE he made about being allergic to an ingredient in the vaccines. If that where true he could have easily said that from the beginning, but instead he chose to flat out lie. That comment SCREAMS PR firm spin to me

2. I hate that he cared little about the teammates and friends, as he continued to flaunt mask mandates required of the unvaccinated.

3. I hate that he gave a big FU to all his teammates who have busted THEIR balls for him all season, only to see a key teammate take HIMSELF out of a key game or two. (this one would apply to just about all NFL players who are unvaccinated)

4. I hate him because of what he said on the radio. He literally FLED into the arms of 25% of the terminally stupid Americans who believe that Covid is a scam, the elections were rigged, immigrants are the cause of ALL of our problems, and voting rights should only belong to them.
And to use Dr King's name as a defense, was not only hypocritical and cynical, it was a sacrilege as well.

5. There is a reason why Aaron Rodger who had more physical talent than any other QB before him and only has been to ONE superbowl. When they say he is the most talented QB in NFL history, I don't ever question that. But is he the best, no, and he isn't in the top 10 either, There is a reason why he has had so FEW 4th quarter come backs. So few playoff wins. There is something missing in that guy and we saw it ALL come to the surface this week.

Aaron Rodger.... You've been EXPOSED.
please run for President! You're balanced, intelligent, eloquent, thoughtful and sane. I voted for Biden, but only because he was the lesser of two evils. We've got to do better.

I am not a fan of Florio but everyone that is destroying Aaron Rodgers is my friend

Key question for me is:
Do people have a right to say no?
That is a very loaded question. The easy answer (in a vacuum) is YES. But we aren't living in a vacuum, but in a SOCIETY. And in a society you have BOTH individual rights and OBLIGATIOINS. That is what most of these right wing zealots forget. You have the right to yell "Fire", but NOT in a crowed theater. You have a right to decide what medication you take, but you can't send you kids to school without measles and polio vaccines.

So if you DON'T want to vaccinate yourself for a virus that has killed almost three quarters of a MILLION Americans in less than 2 years, then you should be willing to forfeit some of your rights to live in that society that you would be threatening. That might take the shape of wearing masks, keeping yourself away from crowed places, not being able to go into work, etc BUT if you are going to be a threat to society, then wouldn't you expect that society to protect itself FROM you?

So yes you DO have the right to say no, but you ALSO have to expect the consequences of a society that feels the need to protect itself as well. If you are OK with that, then I'm OK with you. The problem is that there is a small but significant minority that wants it BOTH ways. They want their rights as individuals, but also say FU toward the rights of their society to protect itself. All rights, no obligations. That sound right to you?

This just goes to show how phony you are when you rail about fairness.

The NFL, unlike other sports leagues, created a platform whereby unvaccinated players can play in the 2021 season. This was due to their consideration that some people, like you, don’t want to get the vaccine.

The league and union negotiated for this. The agreement contained protocols. As a member of the union, Rodgers adheres to these protocols.

This wasn’t a mandate. It was work employment agreement. The dozens, if not hundreds, of unvaccinated players agreed to these rules.

Unlike every other unvaccinated player, Rodgers violated the rules.

You admire someone who lies, puts his own self-interest over the team, the league, and the spirit of a contract designed to compromise and give everyone an opportunity. Don’t come crying about federal mandates and talk about extremism, when you yourself aren’t capable of calling out someone from your own “side” no matter how egregious his actions are.
No more like he drank the koolaid and has succumbed to their agenda. I think half the movement is just blind loyalty. Most of them probably would be just as passionate the other way if their cult leaders had come out opposite.

imagine if this was brady and the pats. They would be calling for firing BB today.
Hahaha I can't imagine

Aaron Rodgers has long been the most overrated player in the NFL. Great QBs elevate mediocre talent. For Rodgers to have only appeared in one Super Bowl is inexcusable.

Apparently, Rodgers is a grade A turd as well. And a frigging coward. At least Cole Beasley flaunts his stubborn ignorance loud and proud. Rodgers just lies, then blames his doctors, then accuses imaginary woke mob for exposing his sociopathic tendencies. What a loser. I hope Covid does a Cam Newton on him, leaves him weak and confused, unable to complete a pass or recall a playbook, and exposes him as the pariah that he is. Aaron Rodgers does not deserve NFL stardom, and society is better off without him crapping on the spotlight.

Rodgers should be banned from the league and quarantined in a leper colony. It's high time we reject the anti-vaxxers outright. They deserve to be exposed, shamed, ostracized. Civilization is crumbling because of its patience and tolerance for liars and idiots. You want to reject your obligation to your fellow man in the name of freedom? Let me know how that freedom feels when its consequences leave you dead.

funny how people in here are more upset with Rogers than they are with Henry ruggs who killed someone. this goes for the media too. I didn't see sports illustrated and the national media going after ruggs.... but they are crucifying Aaron Rodgers

someone really loves big pharma and big gov

Lamar Jackson and Kirk Cousins arent vaxxed and despite a few days of people (justifiably) making fun of them they didn’t bullsh.it people about this whole thing and just followed the rules that come with not being vaxxed and people moved on. Rodgers on the other hand lied for zero reason other than because in his mind he exists in some universe of his own rules like some narcissist.

Yeah…the media is totally pro-Ruggs. Lol

What more is there to say? There’s no controversy there.

You just responded to a "loaded question" with a ton of loaded, flawed premises.

Wouldn't be surprised. I took a quick look and saw one negative Rodgers comment.
