If OBJ is released by the Browns and is unclaimed, do you want him in NE on the cheap? (Update: Signed by Rams)

When you watch the Browns Baker is hit or miss deep and really won't target the MOF. He's not nearly "Dangerous" enough for me and I was a huge fan of his coming out.

I'd absolutely take a shot at a motivated OBJ for cheap money. As long as his head is on straight I'd take a gamble for short money.

I think we need to find a way to score more points. We are getting better but we need to be over 28ppg.

He had a nice year in 2019.

I'm not sure hes a gamebreaker/gamechanger anymore. Too many dings and dents.

Needs to dial it back his narcissism and accept hes trying to save his career.

I dunno....If it's a 1yr el cheapo deal?

If hes being doochy or unproductive cut him.

Agree with this, hard saying not knowing. That said I am going with no, because of where they are at as a team. If they were on the cusp I would be more willing to gamble, but that’s not the case, so I’m more interested in playing the string out, seeing who steps up, and who doesn’t, then building off that for next season. My hope is that in 2023 they are a team to go through to win a Lombardi, and it stays that way for the long term future.

Yep. Makes sense. I'm not sure either....

He won’t go to NE. He’s going to a serious contender.

GB should be calling.

KC should be calling.

Baltimore wouldn’t shock me because they always sign guys you didn’t see coming.

Buffalo.

Rams.

Ya he’s going to KC

My feeling is he ends up in Tampa. He idolizes Brady.

No brainer yes

He needs to go somewhere where he is a number 1.
He has a chance to completely reshape this offense and make a ton here or elsewhere next season.

I have concerns with as highly as he feels about Cam, he won't like the way it went down with him and Gilmore and therefore will stay away from here.
Hope I'm wrong.

2018 & 2019 he cleared 1k yds receiving. Missed most of 2020 to injury, and 2021 looks like he’s disinterested/fazed out. On a prove it type deal with a very short leash, Id be cool with it. There’s a lot of strong leadership in that locker room. Slowly work him in. Could pay big dividends back end of this and all of next year. If he’s wanting big money, hard pass. Don’t think he’d want to come here now that Brady is gone anyways.

Sure he was decent in 2018 and 2019, but that was a season and half ago. But he just isn’t worth the headaches he brings especially since it could take him months to pick up the Pats’ offense.

I would rather have Desean Jackson and I don’t want him either.

This offense needs a quick slot receiver. Neither OBJ or Jackson fits that role.

Cleveland has no real incentive to release him other than opening a roster spot. They’re on the hook for his salary and any offsets would be minimal.

They should just tell Beckham to go home and release him in the off-season and avoid the possibility of a player they’re paying catching a TD pass against them while playing for an opponent down the stretch or in the playoffs.

Unless Antonio Brown is done, there is no way he is going to Tampa. They already have three receivers who as good or better than OBJ that know the offense and have a continuity with Brady. I doubt OBJ wants to be the fourth receiver and coming off the bench for a handful of plays a game.

Unless they suspend him for a legitimate reason, they cannot just send OBJ home. It is against the CBA. They either have to release him or suspend him for cause. I am not sure his father tweeting out a video blaming Baker Mayfield being responsible for OBJ’s lack of production is cause for suspension.

Beckham wants to play. So he will not just go home and sit out the rest of the season because the Browns asked him to.

Not sure a rookie QB needs a headcase that is going to mean mug him every time he thinks the ball should have been thrown his way. Which is most of the time. Mac has got to learn by taking what is given to him not having to force it to a prima dona because OBJ’s persona forces that mentality
This is different than Cory Dillion and Randy Moss. They were known as head cases because they took tantrums because they hated losing. OBJ takes tantrums because he wants most plays to go through him. When it does not happen he starts friction with the QB and OC. Moss and Dillion were team players. OBJ is far from that. If Brady was still here I would say yes because Brady would command the respect needed to keep him in control. Mac is too young to have to deal with that AHole
For that I say No Thanks

Originally no..... but on second thought. Everything I've read sounds like he's a hard worker despite all the nonsense. I know it's grasping at straws to get another Moss-like situation, but at the right price, seems worth a shot.

He would have to take a physical and go through an extensive workout, but if he passes those and is willing to sign here for what we can afford to pay him, then why not? It's not like Bill needs to save the money for a trade deadline deal or anything now...
