OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Brady is a bad mother ****er man

Gonna really need the Chiefs to beat the Packers next week. At least they’re in Arrowhead.

I’m not sure the Bucs can lose more than 1 more games and get the 1 seed.

I think if they win Sunday, they’ll get it barring a big injury. Other teams have 3-4 tough games left. They don’t.

Next season they play AFC North and NFC West. Yeesh.

The game played out like I thought it might. The Cards were really tight, especially Murray. Not sure why he is in the convo for MVP. I think it is a good thing that GB won as now every team has one loss and the Bucs have the easiest schedule remaining of all the teams.

Also, I was really taking note of the Cards speed on both sides of the ball. It was so impressive. That is the direction IMO, the Pats have to go to really contend in today's league. We have to get much, much faster.

Hunch that KC wins a high scoring game. Call it the desperation factor.
I agree. I think KC can win but this game vs the Giants is interesting. The Giants are playing well and have upset some teams. They match up well vs the KC. I think if KC goes down to them and is 3-5, the wheels may come off and the GB game may end up being a lay up for GB.

Kyler Murray's bad game drops him down a notch in the MVP race and Dak might not play this week. However, I'm not actively rooting for Brady to win it as usually it indicates a flaw in the team with the MVP that gets exposed in the playoffs ie weak defense, over reliance on the MVP, overconfidence, bad running Game, or run/pass balance, etc,..

Thinking back to that 2007 season, I think the coaches and players overconfidence was their flaw.

The regular season game against the Giants was a big red flag. It wasn't supposed to be a nail biter and it came down to a last minute comeback. It should have been a warning shot to the Pat's not to take the Giants lightly in the SB. They didn't seem to have adjusted or have a good plan B during the game.

This is completely wrong. Belichick drove the Pats hard during the week of SB42. In fact, a lot of ex-players say he drove them too hard. By the time the Super Bowl rolled around, the Giants were the relaxed team and the Pats were worn out. In the last 3 super bowl wins, Belichick has gone a lot easier on the players and it paid off.

The week leading up to the game they had 3 days of padded practices in a row. It was a horrible mistake.

I am. MVP at 44 would be surreal.

I hear that and its silly. Nobody in the NFl takes anyone lightly. That game had zero to do with anything. The giants beat 3 teams on the way to the superbowl, 3 of the best teams in the NFC. Why people always make this out to be the pats choking. The giants just didnt hop into the superbowl, why are those games never talked about. They got hot and they won, barely by what some would say a miracle. It was not becuase of a game or that the pats took them lightly.

Dak looks unlikely to play Sunday. His calf is sore from practicing.

Brady also played on a high ankle sprain. That was a really big deal IMO

I don't think it was overconfidence given the Giants had played them tight the last game of the season. I remember Brady saying the team was really tight because the perfect season was at stake.

OK. Lightly is the wrong word but the gist of it is that there was something wrong going into the game.

As hot as the Giants were, the Pat's team was not just a talented team but if they won the SB they'd probably be considered the BEST team ever.

So to play the Giants to basically a draw not once but twice, when that 2007 Pats team should have been the all time Best is just odd.

The only thing that makes sense is overconfidence leading to bad game planning, overworked practices, bad adjustments, whatever.

Of course it's 14 years ago. So it's fuzzy and all I really remember well are those 2 games vs the Giants.

Completely forgot about that. Yeah the ankle makes a lot of sense.
