Sad to see BB's legacy ripped apart like this

Nobody's questioning Greg Popovich's legacy despite the Spurs entering the NBA season as one of the league's worst teams following two losing seasons.

Nobody’s questioning it because it’s self-evident that he’s not actually a 5D chess player and is dependent on talent like everyone else. The situation is actually a lot like the Patriots. Kawhi got traded after no longer wanting to play for “the genius coach” and won a championship the next year. Popovich is nothing without a superstar. You really haven’t seen a massive shift from Popovich’s reputation a few years ago versus today?

Questioning Belichick's legacy is just lazy self-congratulatory media dreck.

Belichick gets the treatment because the media is pissed off and feels disrespected by him. Between spygate, deflategate, and the transformation of Brady's last 3 years here into a sports entertainment soap opera that would make Vince McMahon jealous, Belichick has no reason to treat them with any respect.
No, that's not it.

I haven’t seen him questioned, but at the same time, nobody even cares to talk about it because he’s not considered the GOAT like Bill. In fact, coaching has taken a back seat in the NBA for several years due to the change in style of play (which I hate). It really comes down to who makes more open shots as players don’t want to play D like they’ve done in the past.

Regarding Pop, he was irrelevant until he landed Duncan (who tanked to get him). Then he landed many good players via the draft like Parker, Ginobli, Stephen Jackson and Kawai later. However, when his teams and Phil Jackson’s Lakers teams were at full strength, Pop was overmatched with my Lakers owning them.

What a truly bizarre notion
That there's no Brady if BB doesns't dump top tier talent?

Nope, that's what he did by letting TFB take over and letting Drew shuffle off to Buffalo. We had just extended Bledsoe and he was still indisputably "the franchise" at the start of the 2001 season. Brady was an unknown second year guy (granted, with a bullet.)

The stupidest thing was chasing away the main reasons for the team's success, and I'm not just talking about Brady.
Go on...

Brady hit the field because of a Bledsoe injury, not because BB dumped Bledsoe.

Did anybody said Brady hit the field after BB dumped Bledsoe? That would be stupid. If you really thought that's what I was saying, that's just sad.

Did BB choose to keep TFB in for the playoffs? Yes. Did BB choose to retain Brady and let Bledsoe go? Also yes. Did BB go against the then-current conventional wisdom, "you don't lose your job because of the injury?" Again, yes. Was letting Bledsoe go "dumping top talent?" Again, yes.

No "dumping top talent," no Brady. QED.

You guys are clearly mixing pre-existent opinions of Baldwin with the specifics of the case.

But it's good to know you believe in the swift sure hand of justice, because the far more significant 1/6 hearings are underway, and it's BEEN 9 months. I am sure you're salivating to see some of those guys put behind bars, especially their leader.
Ahhhh. I see

The 1/6 peeps should be punished for what they did . Who is their “leader?”

I am sure you are just as upset about the summer of love when 30 or so people were killed and there was billions of dollars of damage :

Lol…see, I don’t know much about this story. **** that guy.
This is supposedly what happened. The Director yelled:

“Cold gun,” Halls yelled, declaring the weapon didn't carry live rounds and was ready to fire.

I have no experience in films but I doubt actors when told the gun is good to go (they have ppl to check stuff like that) take it upon themselves to check the prop gun anyway. These types of accidents have happened in the past.

Apparently you need to take it to the vaccines thread. But without getting into it... are you actually talking about the 1960s?

You're wrong. History shows you're wrong. Brady got the job because Bledsoe got injured, not because BB tossed Bledsoe aside. This is known to everyone. Just leave it there. It's ridiculous that you doubled down on this. And players frequently lose their jobs when their replacements outplay them.

Holy ****! I really can't believe you doubled down on this.

Ultimately it was best for the franchise.
The run was over and it was time to pay the bills. If Brady stayed there is no way they win in 2020. There were no resources to work with to improve the team that struggled in the second half of 2019, with brady putting up awful numbers. Sure Brady probably could have willed them to 9 wins maybe even 10 and a one and done. That would have taken about 50 mill away from money available for the rebuild.
Rebuild a mediocre team with a 44 year old QB and little money to spend or with a new QB and 60 mill to spend?
As of 1/4/20 when Brady threw the pick 6 to end the 2019 season anyone looking honestly at the team, the cap situation, the play of Brady over the previous 2 months, and his birth certificate would have admitted this team was not going to win a SB before Brady was too old to lead them there.
It sucks, but it is what it is.
Today people are griping about the free agents brought in, had we kept Brady they would be griping about why they didn’t bring anyone in to surround him, and why he is getting killed behind a bargain basement OL, far worse than the one we have.
This doesn't make sense. Brady whethered through retoolings in 06 and 13.

Give him a three year deal. The first year would be so-so, but then you have more cap after, and other too free agents may take a paycut to play with Brady.

Why would cap suddenly be an unsolvable issue after 20 seasons?

That alec baldwin thing was a tragedy
Per his own Twitter, Baldwin is an expert in officer-involved shootings (defends scumbags who beat elderly men to death and protests against police shootings the Federal Courts have ruled 100% justified), but somehow, years later, knows nothing about guns. Baldwin is one of the biggest pieces of **** known to man.

Ultimately, though, I do hope Baldwin is afforded the chance for a fair investigation and due process- something that he is so eager to deny others.

You're deliberately obtuse to have something to argue over. Let's leave it there instead.

He is a clown as is his wack-job wife.

Brady wasn’t 43 in 06 or 13. The team wasn’t as far away with less resources. They made in to the conference championship those years.

Sure if you pretend it was the same as situations that were totally different I can see why it makes no sense to you.

I’m curious as to what 1960Pats means as well.
Curiosity killed the cat.

The list of players that Bill chased away is actually pretty long. Just in the past few years he chased away Brady, Gronk, Amendola, Gilmore and Thuney. I suppose there's more and we could add AB to that recent list also, but that was on Bendover Bob for his personal PR more than on Bill.

I won't get into the piss poor drafting which also affects Bill's legacy but all of that is showing up on the field. But hey, at least he's getting top dollar and his kids have jobs.
