Sad to see BB's legacy ripped apart like this

News flash: Kraft did exactly that. He brought in new guys that helped out during the draft. He also b!tched about poor drafts. So you're wrong. Again.
No, he did not.

Just trying to figure out from the author how it's Belichick's fault he had Brady here for nearly 20-years?

Brady had the desire and the drive to be great. Belichick showed him how to do it, just like he's helped a lot of guys become great. And this isn't me saying it, guys have been documented saying just that.

Brady just took it to another level and never let up. My only complaint is that Belichick gave up on him a couple of years too soon. But at the same time, if they don't let him go and they don't go 7-9 last year, they don't end up with Jones, who may be the guy who might really be the one.

So given what we've seen, even though I hated seeing Brady go, I'm pleased with the results and I'm excited for the future. Even if it means a frustrating 2021.
Brady was a huge gift to Bill for 20 years by:

1. Not having to spend draft & FAcy capital trying to find a replacement elite QB during that span like dozens of other teams had to do, and keeping his cap hit reasonable which allowed Bill to work around cap limitations;
2. Having a clutch QB that made plays with avg players, allowing Bill to get around cap limitations with avg players;
3. Having a Leader in the locker room that elevated the other players and led by example with his demanding work ethic;
4. Allowing Bill to low ball veteran player contracts using his QB contract as an example.

I never expected much from this season. Had them going 9-8 and missing the playoffs. I knew it would take time for all these new players and a rookie QB to gel. I'm just shocked at how many mistakes, and poor coaching decisions are being made:

Too many men in the field, not enough men in the field, blocked punts, gassed players, not enough depth players during a game, time running out, wasting TOs, etc. That's not even getting into play calls.

Something is wrong. This isn't your typical New England Patriots. It's not just rabid or troll fans here at patsfans noticing this either. Everyone around the league has noticed.

They lost because they didn’t execute.

He isnt sitting on the bench he is playing. The whole season. You don’t need to make bad choices to “see how it goes”.

You are 100% wrong about the heavy package usage. Go watch the film. They used it throughout the game.
You can't execute by punting and taking kneel downs. Lol

He isn't playing by watching punt team or being asked to take a knee.

You're lying about the heavy packages.

No, he did not.
Of course he did. He got tired of blowing drafts. He said so himself. He brought in help. He said that too. He also said they're in the business of winning about the FAcy spending. I guarantee you he's not seeing this as a rebuild year. He wants a playoff run. Now. He dished out more $$ in guarantees than several years combined. He's a business man. This isn't a hobby for him, it's business.

I guess I feel the opposite. I love the direction of this team. The next 2-3 years will be a lot of fun to watch.
Yeah, I'm working through the "OMG you mean we might even have multiple sub-.500 years?????" phase.

in a world where clicks and twitter followers are key, where guys like tom curran and ben volin are considered "sports media" (i'm not even going to get into the radio guys), pond scum might be an upgrade

my GF, who is not really a sports fan, was listening to the post game presser when the radio broadcast ended the other day......she asked why in the hell they make anyone do this immediately following a loss, and thought BB was being too nice when they asked such stupid questions lol
marry that girl

Wait, like Tom Landry??? 2-ring tom Landry? The guy with a stupid hat, instead of a legendary hoodie? How DARE you sir.

You're lying about the heavy packages.
You execute by not needing to go for a 4th down 10 yards from the opponents FG range.
He is playing 100% of the qb snaps. You don’t make poor game decisions to get your rookie QBs more snaps.

I went to the tape. You should before you call someone a liar.
They used it 3 plays on the first drive a few on the second drive and at different times throughout the game. Just as you would use a gimmicky package.

Wrong. Belichick is in charge of football operations. Belichick brings in the people.

He spent this year because they had the cap room this year. Every year they have it, they spend it. Nothing was different this year other than they had more cap room.

Of course they are in the business of winning. Do you really think the guy with 8 rings isn’t in the business of winning?

Not this season he won't but if we keep trending downward why wouldn't he?

If Kraft fires him there will be 20 openings for HC. It’s more likely Bill finds a good landing spot like Brady did on a team that just needs a spark to get over a hump and Kraft will have a harder time finding a replacement to fill his shoes.

It’s kind of a lose-lose for us. Guys like Bill become institutionalized in their org . It took a new owner for the Cowboys to finally move on from Landry who clearly was past his day, and Jones still gets **** for it. Shula basically got to die a death in Miami before he ultimately decided enough was enough.

If Bill does get forced out, it’s more likely he loses a few years and takes a PR hit and he decides to retire to save face than have Kraft dismiss him

I dont know, I imagine Kraft can find a coach to lead the pats to a losing season.

They have never....ever spent 160 mil in the offseason....ever. In fact, show me a year they even took a player on day one of free agency. So no, they do not do that all the time at all in any way.

They used it 3 plays on the first drive a few on the second drive and at different times throughout the game. Just as you would use a gimmicky package.
They ran 7 heavy personnel plays on their first two possessions. They ran 5 heavier plays on their third drive. In the 4th qtr on their longest drive, they ran 6 two TE sets. Then two more in OT.

Get some glasses or stop lying.

Wrong. Kraft brought in people to make it a group decision no longer trusting Bill to fv&k it up again.

Lol, they broke a record in amount of guaranteed money. Never been done before. By anyone. Ever. Keep lying.

Correct, Kraft is expecting wins for what he spent, not excuses

People giving Adam credit for SB 38 when he missed TWO field goals is always funny.
Adam never missed a FG and was better than Gost. Diddnt you hear?
