I don't know what that means. Just because Mac is playing as good as he can doesn't mean he should/can play better.

Their o-line and secondary is below average. Their D line and LBs are average. Their RBs player well yesterday but before that fumbled in key moments. Their WRs are serviceable and only one of their 2 big money TEs is earning their paycheck. Special teams - a hallmark of this organization has been skitzo
I think he meant, Jones isnt the biggest issue on the team. Bad oline, sputtering running game , defense, ST all are average right now.

Agree to disagree.

McDaniels offense rarely feature tightends unless his name is Gronk, nevermind 2 (Could be wrong by before gronk his best TE night of been Watson). Billy came in and changed things in the offense when McDaniels left...one of the most notable was using and featuring both tightends. McDaniels came back and got away from that. At no point after the murders and gronks repeated injuries did they attempt to restock the cubbard. Trading for 1 year of Bennett maybe being the best attempt. We were content to go forward with out.

Go see McDaniels offense elsewhere in the NFL and even before he left the first time here. He does not utilize the 2 TE set - I'm not making this up. I don't dislike McDaniels ..but Tightends outside of maybe the goat...are not usually impressive on a McDaniels offense.

Great post. A lot of good content and rationale. I highly recommend this post.

Alright, someone needs to explain me how is this a thing. Its all becaming more and more bizarre with these press-conferences

We get 2 TEs to be able to run these packages. We run a system where we can plug pieces in different position players in similar plays with the EP system

Im gonna even add: We are one of the few teams with FB on the roster. We even have (or had) 2, counting PS players. We had 5 (Five) Rbs on the roster at one point.

And we have 7 plays on this formation? Like, no man, if this was the Jets doing this stuff we would be laughing, this pathetic, unless Im missing something. ****ing all pre-season was for ****ing what? TC? OffSeason? 5 games before?

It was so obvious when mcIdiot ran out of plays in 12 personnel and 22 personnel, and went back to crappy spread shotgun offense that left the defense exhausted after so many 3 and outs.

.

Yeah. He has been throwing more interceptable balls lately. I just feel like the offense is so stagnant in terms of the pass game. We have a pretty versatile group of receivers and it feels like we are just not using them well.
It's improving but not nearly what it should be.

Smith has been a massive disappointment. He was supposed to be THE playmaker and has done diddly squat.

Not his fault when the oc has zero clue how to use 2 TEs and uses Jonnu literally as a fullback. Look at the tape. Only 4 total TE targets all game to tight ends. The oc has zero clue how to use a 2nd tight end. None.

Didn't the board's cult hero, Evan Lazar, pump this guy up for a third time? Lol...

I doubt it. Link please? Don't get sucked into terrible construction guy fake expert opining's..

That's kind of the problem. Why pay Jonnu Smith to be the playmaker of an offense when he never posted more than 450 yards receiving in a single season of his career, in an offense where he was the 4th option? There were far more proven, more explosive Wide Receivers available on the open market for roughly the same money. We threw big money at Hunter Henry and used high draft picks on Asiasi and Keene. Seem's like a highly questionable decision to give Smith a big contract.

Don't worry we are paying 11 Million to agolohor and 13 Million to Jonnu Smith this year. Instead of paying a home grown pro bowl talent who was the staple of our line.
I doubt Thuney would want to play for Brady-less BB Patriots, so it was likely not an option. Pats almost certainly have to overpay for Agholor and Smith to get them to sign.

Another huge downside to not having recognized veteran leadership on the offensive side of the ball at QB.

They had to pay to bring in a TE because the draftees have been busts.

Why didn't you give up before when

A. The GOAT QB shunned him a week into training camp and went out of his way never to compliment him.
B. NFL CB's stuck to him like white on rice
C. He moved slower than a snail on the beach
D. He asked to be traded, his agent's pathetic letter
E. Fumbling, Lining up the wrong way every game
F. Softer than grape jelly on contested catches

Because I watch a lot of ASU ball....(used to be an ASU student) and he was virtually unstoppable in the red zone......

If Pats are willing to release Gilmore and get only a 6th rounder, I am sure it is only a matter of days before Harry is released.

That's the problem

ASU, Harry was winning jump balls in the Pac-12 against non talents who now work regular jobs like us. Meanwhile, AJ Brown and Metcalf were dominating vs SEC.

That highlight video you posted wasn't even impressive. Damm near every catch was a 50/50 ball. yes he made some tough catches in college (vs B level college corners) but he looked very stiff with no speed , barley any separation…that rarely translates to NFL …if he was fast or a better route runner it would be different but his route running on college tape sucked! A lot of scouts compared him to Lequon Treadwell coming into the NFL.

Watch AJ Brown's college tape, it jumps off the sceen. Same with Deebo's and Metcalfs.

I was also expecting to see more razzle-dazzle, especially during one of those 5 3-and-out series, when Mac was obviously still trying to clear his head and likely felt gun-shy about standing in the pocket too often... Heck we should attempt at least one flea-flicker every game; and at least one sweep/reverse every drive...
