Team Bill ...... as in Pats fan?

It depends if you have to believe Bill is omniscient and set your dignity ablaze in an attempt to prove that no decision Bill has ever made has ever been questionable. If that's what it means to be a Pats fan, then yes. However, I don't think most Pats fans are really like that. There's a faction of them known as Team Bill, whose loyalty oath to Bill supersedes any fandom to the actual team. This has been going on since well before Brady departed.

FWIW, Deus asked me to share this…
I've seen a couple of people asking about this. So, if you don't mind, please pass on my answer in some form: I was banned from both the original thread and from the big thread in the Brady forum. I'm still waiting to hear from Ian with regards to this. If it's going to be acceptable to ban people for calling the honks/homers honks/homers, I'm not going to be coming back. Because the notion that "Homer/Honk" should be a bannable offense is absurd.

Team Bill ...... as in Pats fan?
As in Bill Belichick sycophants. As in Bill can do no wrong.
As in biggest Pats fan homers on the forum.

I'm a Pats fan. I'm not Team Bill.
Savvy?

sycophants? you can say the exact same thing about the Brady underwear brigade who apparently made up the term 'Team Bill'

sounds to me like you're more of a Brady fan than a Pats fan

Come on IC, we've been through this. You can be a Pats fan and still want the greatest player to be successful, which is easy when he's not even in your Conference.

And no, Team Bill was created by Team Bill. They wear it like a badge of honor (see below, and I like RW). This is more friendly banter than anything since it's not that important but I'll be damned if I'll let somebody define what type of fan I am or who I should root for. That's just dumb.

it works both ways.........there's always Brady's underwear brigade which I have been referring to for 10 years or so.

and just because you've moved on and no longer give a crap about Brady now that he's gone, it doesn't make you a Team Bill fan

actually.......I'm a Pats fan.....I don't give a crap about the QB of the Bucs.....I didn't give a crap about Ray Borque after he left.

If BB left, I wouldn't give a crap about him either............just to coin BB himself, "I can't worry about anyone who's not here"

doesn't make you Team Bill........but I get your point about anyone who professes to it.

Never said you are Team Bill (don't think you are). That's cool if you don't care about ex-players. That's your prerogative.

I'm a workers over mgmt guy so I'm a players guy. I always wish them well and hold no particular animosity towards them.

In the case of Brady, his story and achievements are so extraordinary I can't help but be happy for his success after all the great memories he brought us as Pats fans. That doesn't make me any less of a Pats fan. At least I don't think so, hahaha.

In workers over management, Brady is not what I picture when you say ‘worker’….he’s his own brand and I have no regard for someone whose other endeavors (TB12 ) might conflict with what to me is his primary function.

I like the wins, but he lost me with his branding launch with Tom vs time …. I think his departure was contrived … I think hes no different than any other athlete who branded themselves

he was here, it was fun…now he’s gone

Mac Jones is the QB now…..I will wring my hands over him

Don't want to be a trouble maker but maybe start a new thread we can all migrate to? I hate censorship.
Excellent idea. We can just start a new main Bucs thread.

Honk is not a freaking offensive insult. Good god it’s as G rated a term you can use for a fan of a team as you can. If for some ungodly reason you had never heard it used in this context and thought it was some slur about something else fine, but then correct your mistake.

Never seen such little power go to someone’s head. The Karen-ish tendencies are really unbecoming of a moderator. The throwing the rock and hiding the hand is equally tragic. And in case she gets mad and wants to ban me…IDGAF.

Anyways, it’s highly unlikely AB clears COVID protocol before the game and JPP will likely be out but it’ll be excited to see a couple of rookies (Darden and Tryon) play bigger roles this week. The vets will be missed but the Bucs should be able to come through due to their depth.

This Rams game is a sneaky important game that I hope the team isn’t overlooking.

I'm pretty sure Deus isn't banned...only Ian can ban posters from the forum. Mods can only ban from threads. I'm guessing Deus is just out of here voluntarily.

That's what I was told. Apparently you weren't told because you're not as special as I am. Haha
