Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

I think the QB2 on the 53 is the interesting part, because it would likely be someone who has 0 experience with the Pats system including training camp. I think the only guys with experience in the Pats system are Jimmy G, Brissett, Hoyer, and Danny Etling. Well, Cam too. Might be a few Houston or Giants backups they’d feel could work based on their time with BOB and Joe Judge. Anyone else wouldn’t have any experience.

It is still a long way to go and boys learn quick. The way 2021 team was built going even aggressively for legit QB2 should not be a surprise..
Bill wants a good season and no excuses..

Happy about K-Wilk, Nixon, Bower, and of course Cinderella Story on PS.

Been pimping JJ since he busted out.

Dude is dangerous in a Darren Sproles like way. Anxious to see him getting the ball in space.
I see more of Sproles than Dion Lewis in his play and skill set. Hopefully he’s more durable than Lewis whom I really liked.

Dolegala has a few months of practice squad experience from last year and was in the offseason prep this offseason until released. That's not a lot, but he at least was invited in twice now.

run team first

so we drafted an elite pure pocket passer in the top 15 to hand the ball off?
In his rookie year? Absolutely, 100%, yes.

ok name teams with a worse top 3 core? I just looked. Maybe 1 or 2 teams tops

I really shouldn't keep this discussion going...but why differentiate between receiving corps and WR corps? TE's kind of matter a lot in this equation too.

Lasts year's receiving corps was bad. This year sees an upgrade of 2 of the WR positions and the addition of 2 great TE's. That part is huge!

We will barely ever see more than 2 WR's on the field anyway. Nor should we with these TE's.

I like the PS so far. A lot of guys that could have feasibly made the roster in nearby parallel universes. Gives us some extra "depth" that's been through a full training camp with us.

Moreover TEs tend to be harder to "scheme out" than WRs and are almost always a mismatch of either speed, size, catch radius or all of the above which is why rookies tend to go to them more often. Doubling #1 WRs is easy.

Looks like we are getting another year of the Harry Experiment.

the only silver lining i can think of is that he has to know at this point he needs to produce or his big payday and lifestyle will be adios

if he wants to get paid, he needs to produce.

Thats the best I could do :(

Jahlani Tavai

87.5% comp 140 passer rating against
624 snaps last year with majority at MLB

How do you draft a LB that can’t cover in the top 50 of the draft lol. Maybe he can play the EDGE considering his size.

If we evaluated all Detroit players just based on their stats, BB would never have traded for KVN. I mean, KVN had all of 1 SACK prior to the Pats getting him. And despite a plethora of former Patriots (Harmon, Flowers, Shelton, Coleman, Collins) that 2020 Detroit defense was horrid.
