Zolak has been saying racist trash for a while and sucks on the air. Get him outta here.

He also recently told someone he hopes they have a mental disability. Dude is a total clown.

Utter horses---t.

All y’all’s rambling about the great white hope Tom Brady.

that Celtics stuff on the playoffs.

yall desperately hanging onto Larry bird.

yalls white immigrant treatment of black folks after getting off the boat.

the way y’all try to treat mj and Larry bird.

bostons as full of racist as Mississippi but hides behind the blue state/college stuff.
Oh look, an example of Intersectionality….extreme ignorance and virulent racism meet in a single person.

just work on it. Other teams have weak qbs too (and other glaring problems one magical qb just won’t fix).

i just don’t understand why you don’t want the man to salvage the later end of his career by being ok and using that to go elsewhere.

also the ab stuff left a sour taste in folks mouths... prolly Brady’stoo. Folks didn’t give him botd or look the other way like they’ve done with many white players.

Oh look... an “I’m not the racist.. y..y..YOURE the racist” dude. They definitely don’t resort to that one fallaciously.

Boston 100% does have a history with racism, but you probably should have given the city's treatment of Bill Russell as an example because every city in the world would idolize Larry Bird and Tom Brady, what does that even mean? Loving the greatest NFL player of all time is an instance of Boston being racist because he's white?

Bill Russell might be the greatest pro athlete period, in any sport. You would have a hard time finding anyone with his list of
Accomplishments and championships. He was however, much like my man Ted, kinda of a ****.

Now that Brady has defected, I would say that Big Papi is probably the most idolized superstar in Boston. So that might out a wrench in the “Boston only likes white athletes”.

*sigh*

I am going to look at this from a football prospective. As a coach, I have struggled with the fact that my high school kids want to have music going while we are on the practice field. Any music; rap, country, rock, pop, you name it. We have a limited time and every rep matters. I prefer them to not be dancing and singing when we should be working. I have begun to allow my opinion to be swayed a bit, and I think that the "no music, no distractions" thing is more about me being a cranky old coach than a guy trying to impart some of my limited knowledge while being a positive influence. The coaching staff has allowed them to have music as long as it's not taking away from reps, and it has to be clean. No foul language, no N word. From where I sit, Zo might be coming from this place. He's older and out of touch with younger players. I do think that part of it is he wants Mac over Cam, and will find fault in everything Cam does. I think he'd b!tch about Cam's diet and say he should be eating avocado ice cream, given the opportunity. Cam's biggest problem is he's not very good anymore, and Zo is going to find fault in everything the guy does. Anything else is people projecting, IMO.

if he was dogwhistling, he had no idea he was doing it.

I pretty much see it this way as well. And this is coming from a black man. Honestly if BB doesn't have a problem with Cam dancing to music why should anyone else!?

ha ha i always get a laugh out of the "rap is crap" crowd, probably the same way if feel about having to listen to "sweet caroline"

BTW....a WHITE guy created the first rap tune way back in the early 60's...it changed the way I live my life to this very day...

Go back a bit further ... 1950 ... Hot Rod Race

Ugh. As son of a highly honored coach (and a coach myself many moons ago) I sympathize with your dilemma. But I think the "no music no distractions" principle is a good one and not necessarily a vestige of being old/cranky/inflexible/out of touch. Imparting the need for discipline and teaching selflessness for the good of the team is part of this. It really IS a distraction when kids are preoccupied with what kind of music should be played and it's a safe bet they don't all share the same tastes. At the most I'd maybe allow it during warmups and limit it to that, but that's just my take. I'm curious if you've seen disagreements between kids on what is played and when, and what you think would happen if it's taken away altogether.

It's used as reward for good practices. There's usually some divide on the rap heavy playlists, but most of the kids go along to get along. Most are just happy to have the background music. If there's much b!tching, I threaten them with my playlist, which tends to be exactly what you hear in stadium at Gillette. We have poor facilities, so we are limited to a small speaker on the field with bluetooth hookup. The biggest distraction we usually see is when a non-clean version of a song gets into a play list and you see whoever is DJ'ing that day run to change it, before they get subjected to a heavy dose of easy listening 70's tunes. They play by the rules pretty well. If practice sucks, it gets shut off. It's definitely more of a treat than the norm.

As far as I'm concerned, this statement is correct but not the "White" part. For me, Mac Jones is about my hope to not have the same feeling of no chance of winning when the Patriots got behind like I did during the second half of last season.

I've been a fan for many years and have witnessed some terrible teams but as a fan never felt that we had no chance of coming back to win until last year. There was no hope not even for even most dedicated fans like me. As discussed ad-nauseam, the skipping passes off the ground, missing recievers by 20 feet, holding onto the ball too long and running into the pass rush instead of away from it way too many times was enough for me. Now of course, if Cam proves that last year's possible explanations for his drop off in play were valid and is able to consistently show that he can play well I'll certainly jump on the bandwagon for him.

Now I happen to be an old white dude and just for the record, I remember back during the 2000 season as the Patriots were working their way to a 5 and 11 season a lot of us were off Bledsoe and wanted to replace him with Michael Bishop who happens to be black. A lot of us also thought that Michael Bishop was a better player than Tom Brady at the time. Shows what we knew. LOL But the bottom line is that race didn't have anything to do with it. All we wanted to do was win.

The problem is… well, Cam Newton had an atrocious year last year. That’s really not even debatable. One can argue he will do better this year but right now there is no reason for any Patriots fan to support him enthusiastically.

And then there's that whole thing where he won't take a jab that millions of others round the world have taken to help stay on the field.

Not saying he has to do it, am saying it limits many people's willingness to support him.

IMO Kraft is an fool for putting the future of his $3B asset into this guy's hands when he has a viable option sitting on the bench.

I do not think it is as cryptic as that. He is only here for a year and yea he should be vaccinated but every team has a few players that are not vaccinated right now (Ryan Tannehill was just diagnosis with COVID) It's a big risk for all but I do not think it is one that could ruin a franchise.
