Oh I absolutely do. I have passive incomes and haven't fretted over my net worth in a long time, so I can do as I please. That includes grammar corrections.
Then you have plenty of time to look up the difference between grammar and spelling.

What todays practice tells me is that Jones needs to start with the 1s to play well.
He got used to that yesterday, and suddenly had to regress today with the 2s - hence the poorer numbers.

What poor numbers? He was a victim of drops including one that should have been a td. Yes he had a dropped interception but so did cam newton.

There is a whole thing that goes into the qualifications.

Additionally, they are incredibly lax about whether or not they actually verify someone. There are endless numbers of people who obviously should be verified, who it should be trivial to verify who have tried and been denied. Versus some really odd ones who ARE verified.

You know, one of the camps most under reported stories has been the rise of Gunner as a WR. Every practice notes him catching balls all over the place (today's drop excepted). He simply is getting open. To me it looks like he is well ahead in his development as a WR than I expected and most surprisingly its not as a slot guy but on the outside.

Agholor,Meyers, Bourne, etc? How many receivers? I hope olszewski makes the team.

Anyone who doesn't believe that Cam will start on Sunday will be greatly disappointed. Today shows that nothing will make Newton lose the starting job before the start of the season other than a significant injury.
Or.. they put Cam out there because there is a QB competition going on and their rookie has taken a TON of reps the last 3 days and needs a break..

Sorry, Rob, but it's not like you to make such massive assumptions while ignoring very valid points.

Paul Perillo is often wrong no?

I may be in the minority here but I want to see Cam and Mac both perform well. I don't look at the week 1 starter as the finish line but just the opening act. I don't even want BB to announce a starter and let the opening possession do that so that opponents have to do extra preparation for 2 very different QB's. Its a long season and having 2 capable QB's gives them options and flexibility.
Youre not in the minority. I think most of us expect BB to do exactly that.

This was the scrimmage day. If it was a normal practice day, you might have a stronger argument. But this might be the last time that the 1s play in a game type of environment before the start of the regular season. At this point, there is nothing Cam could do to lose the starting role. All that could happen is Mac taking it from him and he cannot do that standing on the sideline when the 1s are on the field.

If Jones had a legitimate shot to start on September 12th, Belichick would give him every opportunity he can before the start of the regular season to play in real game conditions with the 1s. He didn't need a rest today with two more days before the game. Starting Cam today didn't reps as much as Jones if it was a real competition.

Besides, it isn't like Jones had less reps today than Newton. It was just that he did it with the 2s and 3s while Newton did it with the 1s. If it was a rest day for Jones, he wouldn't have taken the field at all or just did a few reps to keep him from tightening up.

I didn't realize that Harris, Agholor and Smith were "#2s"

For the twitter stupid what does a blue check mark mean?

It means Twitter has verified (sorta) that the person posting is who they claim to be in their bio.

It took Edelman several years before he became a good receiver. He he came out hot his rookie year as a receiver in his first few games and got injured and then became a very minor roll player on offense for like three years after that before he really broke out. Not saying Gunner will be the player Edelman was or even close, but they both came into the league under similar conditions. So there is a chance that Gunner could follow a similar projection and as long as he is healthy, he might progress faster.

I loved when Edelman and Amendola were on the field at the same time, so tough to defend. Maybe, eventually, Meyers and Olszewski can give us the same kind of mismatch. I like Gunner a lot, definitely a hard nosed kid in the Brown, Welker, Edelman tradition.

Where did you read it was all with the two's and three's? He was throwing to Myers, Smith, Agholar, Bourne etc... Harris was one of his drops. He was in when Andrews got hurt.

Here's what seems to matter from today, in order of significance:
  • Andrews is hurt
  • Yet, the Pats are supposedly sending an OL to the Ravens for a rookie CB
  • Newton was given the first reps, further cementing the Pats beliefs that he did nothing wrong regarding the rules; Newton did nothing wrong, therefore, he won't have his role taken away from him. Conveying that message is the priority over the order of QB rotations.
  • Mac Jones got FAR MORE work at QB than Newton did.
  • The WR's keep dropping too many balls. At some point, you have to imagine Belichick walking into the WR room and telling them that the next guy to drop one will sit the entire opening game (or something similarly drastic to get their attention).

Beat me to it. Wasn't trying to pile on just responded to his post before reading down further.
