Drew Bledsoe: "Give Cam Newton a Full Year"

That poster thought Danny Shelton was comparable to Wilfork. He's lucky he has Patsfans as an outlet.

Triumph told me many years ago that he would do a better job as GM of the Patriots than Belichick was doing. If you look up the definition of “unhinged” his picture will most likely be beside it.

If Cam starts 17 games that means we do not have any chance of making the playoffs. If we are out of it by week 13/14 and Bill doesn't get Mac some starts it is time to put Bill out to pasture.

Can't deny the weapons weren't ass last year, even the goat looked washed playing with these guys. But, best QB should start, Mac or Cam, whomever that may be.

If Cam is going to play like he did in 2020, and I have to sit through another full season of it, I'd rather see a full season of 49 year old Drew Bledsoe as our QB....at least that would be more entertaining.

Seriously if our starting QB is Cam playing anything like in 2020, after a game of two watching in abject horror, I'll become a casual 2021 observer.
I CAN"T STAND IT!

If Cam continues to perform this season as he did at the end of last season, there's no feckin way that Bill will allow him to start even close to 17 games...It's simply Not. Gonna. Happen.

No love for Clipboard Jesus?

Ya got me...Who is this dude?

First half of the season he was typical Brady. Second half of the season he was clearly injured.
More like second half of the season the Online was injured and we became a run team.

No, Brady’s throws were off, it was clear he was injured. He didn’t practice. He threw just as much but completed 55% of his passes

Might have been the injured Oline and trash receivers.
If you didn’t watch the games and recognize the obvious injury you might think that.
Why do you think he didn’t participate in practice?

Because he was 42. He has been taking time off for the last several years especially later in the season.

For the life of me I don't think he'd be able to have a single coherent conversation with Bill pertaining to football. He'd be fetching them coffee or back in his Miata real quick.

That's fair. Look at the comments though. A bunch of minds made up and even if the Pats start winning with Cam starting, looks like there's going to be segment crying about it no matter what. I'll tell you what, if the team isn't winning then it makes it a really easy non-controversial decision for a change.
Cam is starting, I think we all realize that. Cam has a very short leash though with the Rook nipping at his heels. If Cam can run the offense efficiently, make plays, and keep from throwing the ball into the ground, then I'm fine with running with him for a year. He does bring the bigger game experience.

But I'm dubious that under pressure, and after his shoulder starts taking a pounding that he can keep any real accuracy up consistently. So let's see, but if he is anything close to what we saw last year, it's going to be a rough year.

Tell me about all the recent Alabama QBs who have succeeded in the NFL.

There are none. The only way they got inside a Super Bowl stadium is with a ticket.

Recently, Sabans team had 3 QBs in the Heisman conversation at the same time because you could plug any of them in and win with a team thats loaded top to bottom. People think that National Championships automatically equate to Super Bowls.

Have you watched film on Mac? Have you done any analysis on his play in college? Have you watched him run the offense here in New England in the pre-season at all?

He didn’t practice at all. You think while the offense was producing at the exact same level it did with newton for half a season, he wouldn’t take time off to rest. Sounds like Brady right? Things are going horribly but I’m too tired to practice.
Watch the tape it’s obvious.

Again Brady was 42 and taking time for years.

Newton was 31 learning a new system and was out with Covid.

You said he brings bigger game experience. Hmmm
In his biggest game we know he experienced an unwillingness to try to recover a fumble.
In his 10 year career he pkayed in 7 playoff games and lost 4 of them. He has led a team to playoff win(s) in 2 of 10 seasons and that was 6 and 7 years ago.
His biggest game last year resulted in him fumbling it away in the red zone down 3 on the final drive against the team we were competing for the division with.
I just don’t understand the idea that he gets all this credit for participation when he just isn’t good.

So you really think while the team was falling apart Brady chose to not practice at all, despite being 100% healthy because sometimes he misses a practice or 2? And he wasn’t bothered at all by the team failing and would never consider working harder to be a solution. I guess the reports of his elbow swollen to size of a grapefruit were lies and he was completely fine, he just decided to suck.

Stop the covid crap. He was asymptomatic. That means he HAD NO SYMPTOMS.
But if you want to believe Newton without Edelman producing the same offensive results in 2020 as Brady produced over the second half of 2019 with the same people means Brady was fine, go for it. I’ll just sit here and chuckle.
Since you clearly didn’t watch the games you should go back and do it. Watch for the most accurate passer in the league making throws worse than he ever has before or since and falling down while making throws.

Charlie Whitehurst. A Clemson QB who bounced around the league as a backup QB for about 10 years. Basically a less successful version of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Honestly dude, it's not that big of a deal but please keep on railing on a minor discussion to begin with.

Exactly. The roster is good. But we're in a weird place where the toxic media is riling up division and half the fanbase will be perversely against winning because Cam might be the QB.

.
Enough already. Fans of this team are pulling for the Patriots to win, no matter the QB. If we're stuck with Cam even I'll be pulling for him.

The fans' choice for QB is a different matter and it seems like much more than half of them are rooting for Mac Jones.

Bill Belichick is so cut throat, objective, and puts the team winning above all else. He kept a young nobody in Brady as a 4th QB which used up an extra roster spot for a year, and made the unknown guy the starting QB despite the incumbent QB being a star Pro Bowl QB on a massive contract who also the owner loved and had a great relationship with this star QB Bledsoe.

So if BB goes with Cam, would you be willing to admit Cam is the best for the team and support it ?
That is a horrible take. Do we have to look at a list of QBs under BB that didn't work out? The list actually includes every QB beside Brady, the one he chased away.

If the Pats kept 4 QBs in 2001 then it makes more sense that one of the other two QBs was the beneficiary, not Brady. Even my untrained eye could see TB was their best QB.
