It's a known, mediocre, quantity in a long time vet. Folk is the floor (and would likely find work if released), why waste reps on him when you can take a shot on some dude who was literally web surfing for work instead? Saves the team some injury risk. Worst case, dude gets hurt and Bill can get cute in a meaningless game. Best case, he shows a strong leg (per reports), and forces a decision be made re having Folk actually come back. Folk gets extended vacay and pay regardless.

Looking at the radar… it’s not coming from the south, it’s from the west, and the thunderstorms are about 1/2 mile south. It’ll rain but should be in the clear from the bad stuff.
