Because hyperbole is mind-numbing when it becomes "truth"...

I never cared much for him, but I never hated him. I see him as a bullsh!tter that was never as good as he talked. He's proving that here.
I don't know that he was never as good as he talked, all things taken into consideration. I don't remember him constantly talking about himself, but I'm not a Cam-monitor or anything. I know he has that "Superman" move, which really looks better on a guy who can beat you with his legs and his arm. But I mean, he was pretty deadly at times, and until recently, a top 1/3 of the league kind of QB.

Ahhhhmunno, maybe you stick him with Nelson Ahlgolong and it'll be raining TDs all season long, who knows.

We might need medical doctors to compile the totality of the (curable) excuse for Cam. There's the COVID, there's the 2019 surgery, the 2018 TJ Watt hit, the earlier rotator cuff surgery, etc. etc. I mean, dude comes roaring back in 21, congrats to everyone involved, we got a cheap QB, he got a proof-of-concept year. If he tears it up in 21, everybody will forget 20, because you know, it was his first year in the system, it was his covid year, he had no weapons, he was still messed up from the 2019 surgery, etc.

I just have a gut feeling, backed up by stats, of, in a word, no.

I’d like to not. I’d like to have a better win to judge under current circumstances. The issues he has that will hold this team back we’re glaringly apparent.
It’s not about Newton’s opportunity, it’s about the team winning.
It would be nice and fair and all to see Stidham under normal circumstances, but he hasn’t earned it either. It just doesn’t work that way, newton is a bottom if the barrel qb. Wasting a season to see if he can be a little bit better is a terrible idea.

Well Mr. "Let's draft the fifth least wanted QB by trading an unprecedented 3+ first round picks or we can trade 2+ first round picks for Wontz", I think your ideas have been just horrific.

BB will draft a QB and maybe two but it won't be at your desperate "mortgage the next three years" price.

If what I said was wrong you wouldn’t have to misstate it. Take the L like a man.

Whoops. Here comes mr sensitive again.

My apologies. I forgot not to respond to you.

Respond all you want just recognize there is a reason you deflect, mistate what people say or attack them personally. Not sensitive in the least just see through your lame tactics.

There wasn't any deflection or mistating mr. Sensitive. You are willing to trade "whatever it takes" to get the fourth or fifth least wanted QB.

"I would have paid that price"

Your position is clear to everyone except you apparently.

He kinda did in the SB when he didn’t try to recover a fumble.

fear is not the same thing....it’s more like when someone intentionally grounds the ball from the end zone because they’re afraid JPP is going to touch them

You mean when they throw it far so they do not take a negative play and a ref calls it when they did not call it against any Qb that entire year? Saying Brady plays scared might be the most silly thing I have ever read. Did you watch those superbowl against the giants? Brady took more hits in those than in any game he has played and still had us up and watched the team lose from the side lines.

I have a simple question, is playing a Qb that cannot take you to the superbowl mortgaging the future? If there is a QB you like, you should try to get him because QB is the most important position on the field. No team in the last 20 years has won consistently without a top QB.

Sound like excuse making.....it was intentional grounding regardless of what other plays occurred that season

my guess is that you didn’t watch the hits that Newton took against the Broncos

Of course you misstated and you know that. Prove me wrong and show me where I posted

Note that you put it I quote

I did, but I also watched Brady play with broken ribs, a broken foot, tendon damage in his hand, a sports hernia, and not miss a game. Brady has been hit in his career more than any QB in NFL history, he is still playing at 43...I would say that trumps anything you can come up for Cam. The fact you are comparing both QB's hearts and siding with Cam is unreal.

the pats weren’t winning another Super Bowl with Brady

If you were like a man, you’d still be Andy
You are going to start this game again after I embarrassed for months ago do that you went into pretending to ignore me mode?
Not a good choice.

the pats weren’t winning another Super Bowl with Brady
what did that have to do with what I said? I also heard that in 2007, 2014, 2016. I figured at some point it would be true, but now its switched with Pats are not winning a superbowl with Cam.

Getting rid of the ball so your team doesn’t take a sack in the end zone is playing for your team. Not jumping on a fumble because a player is challenging you for it is playing for yourself.

Oh I agree, I do not compare the two at all. Brady hates the negative play especially in big games. It has nothing to do with being hit, he gets hit all the time. Brady would have dove on the fumble and probably bit a couple guys while he was down there.

My opinion is this, if the Patriots traded three first round picks to get the first pick in the draft then I'd have no complaints but to do it to get the least wanted fourth or fifth QB in the draft is insane. Imo.

As it seems now the Pats are possibly going to be able to pick a top five rated non QB player while the rest of the league is chasing QBs. That could turn into a Vince Wilfork type or something at that level.

The Pats could still draft two second tier rated QBs in the second and third rounds. They need two QBs anyway unless you want Hoyer back.

Spending on a QB when the market is historically high is insane. The better value is to be patient and get a historically cheap top 5 player.

and here is the thing on that, nobody knows what kind of QB you will get even if you draft one high. I understand the concern of giving up a ton for a guy that nobody knows what they will be and sometimes a guy drafted in the 3rd round turns out the best, but they still need a QB to ever get back to what they were, and I am not saying that giving up that much capital for a QB is the best move, but if you and your scouts think that guy exists, then it is worth it, but there is the rub.
