First of all, you missed the missing "s" in corps, but I would like to congratulate all parties for not talking about the receiving "core." I think that's something that Captain Picard ejects when things look really bad (that's when Picard the GM is the enemy of Picard the Captain...)

Secondly, he could have meant many things: We "have" a top 10 set of receivers, etc., is one possibility, but it is just as possible that this is written by one of our receivers, who is saying "we are a top 10 set of receivers."

Finally, the correct spelling of the new acquisition's name is Nelson Ahllgolong.

There should be another vote added. The receivers are improved, but not a huge enough improvement to make the playoffs.

Receiver was the ONLY position where I felt some disappointment as far as our signings. Instead of Agholor and Bourne, I would’ve been happier with Corey Davis (an actual #1 receiver) and maybe Bourne, or even a lesser receiver. I still feel this team has a lot of #3 receivers, but not a #1 or even a #2.

TE, you can’t do any better, I was absolutely thrilled. The top 2 FA TEs, and both VERY productive. The offense will run through the TE position.

There is nothing in Corey Davis’ NFL resume, other than his draft position, that says “actual #1 receiver”. In fact, until 2020, he was not even an “actual #2 receiver”. NFL teams don’t decline 5th year options on WR1s. He had a good year in 2020, but was not close to being the best WR on his own team. That’s a far cry from being a franchise WR.

Also, you may want to review the year Agholor had in 2020, because he definitely played at the level of a WR2.

2020

TEs 32nd
WRs 31st

present

TEs 2nd-5th

can argue Henry & Jonnu over any TE group besides Kittle IMO

WRs 20th-25th

Agholor, Bourne & Meyers are three starting caliber NFL WRs. That is basically a first since since 2017. Edelman may have something left & a draftee could help

Henry - Y TE

Smith - H TE

Agholar - X WR

Meyers - Z WR

Could use another WR, but it's a good group overall. Much improved from last year.

Just feels like we should be better-stocked at WR than we are so far, especially when the incredibly team-friendly buyer's market is considered.

If you have one of the best TE sets in the league your receivers get bumped up a notch. This is a top of the line receiving corp. Just need a QB to exploit it. Hopefully Cam can.

Not confident will ever see Edelman ever suit up again, last I read was he was recovering more slowly than expected.

These WR's will be better as our TE's will be better, Henry and Smith are as good a tandem as their is currently. LaCosse and Izzo really did nothing last year.. Keene and Asiasi got lost in the shuffle.

Last year opposing teams did not have to worry about our sub par TE's, this year they do...

Harry, Meyers, Agholor and Bourne do not exactly strike fear... but as a group on paper they are more forminable.

I wouldn’t sleep on Asiasi. Yeah Belichick signed two excellent TEs, but Asiasi will get his chances as well. More weapons equal less predictability on offense.

If Agholor can repeat or better his performance last season then we will be in better shape. I hated to see opposing teams stack the box last season as they knew there was no threat......rather embarassing

It's important to include the tight ends when evaluating the receivers because they look to get a high share of targets.

It's night and day. Last year we had Meyers and Byrd for the season. tHATS IT

With the two TEs we have, having a loaded WR corps isn't as critical a need. There's only one ball. And though 2011 and 2021 are obviously two different seasons, we had Deion Branch, Wes Welker and the corpse of OchoCinco out there at WR that season and did ok. We also have a far better RB corps this year than that year.

I don't know if Agholor will do all that well here, but I'm cautiously optimistic with him. Bourne? I have no idea. It'd be great if Edelbinkie is back and at least 75%.

Love Jules but 75% of his 34-year-old self is not good enough.
