They read the market wrong on Agholor, and overpaid him as a result. If you prefer a different interpretation, you can go with the team knowing it had plenty of money and not worrying about the money as much on day one. It means nothing in the end.

Stick to the Brady thread

How many WRs were picked on Day 1? How many on Day 2? Day 3? I'd say they read the market wrong.

All I'm saying is that it doesn't matter. They had the cash. And with the screwing of other players (think Andrews, David for one obvious example) by needlessly lowballing them, the Patriots may still end up coming out ahead when it comes to contracts.

Bears 2x Pro bowler Kyle Fuller was released... I say pick him up at the right price and this secondary would be the best in football if it isn't right now

Typo obviously. Do you really think a team with an incompetent passing game can win in the nfl in 2021?
Depends what you call “win”. SB ? No. 10-7 ? Maybe. If your running game is whack.

That can all be corrected.
Mac Jones lack luster arm and slow release and unathletic body type is a lot more to correct. Than some foot work and throwing stances.
This is like incredibly wrong on so many levels. Whether or not you like Jones, he isn't going to be a scrambling qb. He is a move in the pocket, get rid of the ball quickly, make the right reads on multiple looks. Jesus watch his highlight films, ignore the ones he throws to wide open receivers and watch the throws he puts in the one place the guy can catch it. Trying to teach someone how to play qb is much harder than getting him to hit the weight room and lose 20 pounds. Plus supposedly Jones is really smart, which is pretty much impossible to teach.

So your a Jones at 15 guy?

I don't think he will be there at 15. I think he will be gone in the top 10.

I think after 1 and 2 they all have their plusses and minuses.

Currently, people love the athletic scrambling qb's, of course Brady and Manning weren't that kind of qb, so obviously you don't have to be an amazing runner to be a successful qb, they are just in vogue now.

It is really hard to judge players from college to the pros. It is even harder to judge players with one season playing, and harder still if they play that one season against d2 players. The professionals can't even agree who is good and who isn't. So I don't pretend to be an expert.

However, watching the Jones tape, he looks pretty darn good, multiple progressions quickly, taking hits, throwing into tight openings. Along with him standing back with lots of time and throwing to wide open wr's. He got two majors in college, smart kid, but who knows.

Jones is dinged for playing in Alabama, while Lawrence is given a pass for playing at Clemson.
