The #Giants and OT Nate Solder have agreed in principle to a reworked deal to return to New York, source said, as NYG locks in the experienced tackle. The two sides are working out the final details, but Solder is staying barring any last-minute hiccups.

The only Patriot FAs that have been re-signed are Bethel and Newton out of 26 free agents. I counted about 16 main players out of the 26. Is that normal?

yes

A couple of more are certainly possible before the 3 day window starts on Monday. Davis seems most likely

Let's look again next week.

3. Cannon's future: When the Patriots agreed to a trade for offensive tackle Trent Brown, it sparked questions about offensive tackle Marcus Cannon's future with the team. One source close to Cannon believed the "writing was on the wall" for him to be cut, which would save the team about $6.3 million in salary-cap space. A factor in the decision-making process could be that Cannon, because of COVID-19 concerns, has yet to return to New England for a physical examination/workout like others who opted out of the 2020 season.
--------

The #s for opt outs coming back to original teams are not looking good across the league.

Im in Miguels corner thinking only 2-3 will be on the roster in Sept. (Hightower - hopefully, Bolden, possibly Chung bc of contract situation (over 6M dead money even with after June 1 cut).

Chung would have 3.28M in dead money post June 1st cut, though he'd had 2022 dead money as well.

Yeah, they only save around $1.8M this year if they cut him post-June 1st. Doesn't make sense to me. May as well keep him around. Brooks is a free agent. Not that Brooks was any good, but he was depth.

Despite being toast in 2019, Chung was still better than Brooks.. Chung brings some leadership and can help Dugger

Would be surprised if Gilmore isn't traded by draft day. James White also just makes too much sense for Tampa.

Hoping Samuel stays on the market! Think him + Emmanuel Sanders would be a great pair.
