Kyle Van Noy: Possibly back on the market?

How are you defining "discount"
Paying Van Noy .......
Less than his $12.7 mill 2020 Dolphins wages?
Less than his $5.9 mill yearly Patriots wages?
Less than the average wages of veteran LBs?
A lot would depend on who I drafted, what I'm hearing other teams might pay and when the signings would take place. But aside from those vagaries, in the 4-5MM area with incentives on a 2 year deal. For example if we draft a top 3 LB at 15 then probably not. If its a top 3 DT or got forbid a WR or QB, then his need would be more pressing. A lot depends on what happens with our own FA's and who else pops loose. Already today quality players like Golden Tate and Kyly Rudolph got their walking papers, so the list get bigger all the time with teams trying to get their cap situations under control. As the FA player list grows, their prices (with about 3-5 exceptions) will shrink. BOTTOM LINE: There will be chances for the Pats to upgrade their roster after the draft and right up to TC at every position of need.

I would say yes to Milano. He is still young and I think will make money but not break the bank. Judon and Van Noy are both pushing 30 and with Judon I always worry about those Baltimore LBs elsewhere. Aside from Zadrious Smith in Green Bay they never seem to do much.
Millano is a guy I always liked. He covered RB's very well in coverage it seemed and was always around the ball. I'd love him here. He is an example of a guy who would never immediately come to mind when you are thinking about improving the LB position, but he always left a positive impression in every game he played against us.

I like it boys. Bring him back. Hell even Flowers might get cut in Detroit. Get the band back together lol
Trey has a huge cap hit of cut this year... 26.8/m in dead money and a -6.8m in cap savings

Next year there is only 11m in dead money, and a +12m in cap savings... If Dan "Alpha" Campbell is going to move on from him, next year seems more likely

But you know who does look like they could be released in Detroit? Danny Shelton... he's not woth the 4 million dollar base salary he's got coming to him... I'd rather bring him back and jettison beau allen, who couldnt even make it on the field this year

I’d rather not bring back Shelton and jettison Beau Allen. There are plenty of quality 1-3 techs in the draft that can fill that role who have higher upside, and come cheaper.

Shelton was limited... but at least he was available...

Not married to the idea though, so aint gonna argue about it... But we do need a few stout 1/3's for that line... Keep Guy, but Cowart and Carl Davis aren't getting the job done

He's been liking all patriots posts since yesterday. I think he's coming back.

Bentley and whatever we had to hightower-van noy will be a big upgrade
Hopefully the year off helped Hightower to fully heal up from lingering issues. Gronk seems to have benefited from the break.

Communication.
Communication.
Communication.
Or lack thereof

Id bring him back for a realistic contract. Problem is a lot of these guys are overpaid, Van Noy being one of them

I hope there is a reunion in the works. He was absolutely great for us in his role.
Bill will pay a little extra for him just out of spite for losing out on the comp pick he should’ve gotten for his departure.

We need 2 of these guys for a 3 man. A guy best as a 1 a guy best as a 3 and a guy who can do both.
Then either a smallish pass rusher for 3rd downs or a DE big enough to slide inside.

I would live for us to sign Tomlinson and Anderson for the defensive line.

I doubt bb signs then, but it would help us out a ton. Draft barmore to go with those two and maybe add some linebackers in the draft and our front seven can stop the run again.

And with any luck generate a little pass rush.
