You're going back way too far. Those days are gone. Different NFL. In last 13 SB the only QBs that don't make HOF are Eli (?), Flacco & Foles. All 3 were clutch AF in the playoffs. Flacco: 124 rating. Eli: 104 rating. Foles: 106 rating.

Average winning score in those 13 SBs was 30 points (even w/ only 13 in SB 53).

All other 10 QBs are HOFers. Granted Brady is in 4 of them but that's what it takes. Plus, you're not getting to the SB w/o going thru KC and a shootout w/ Mahomes. Mariota types ain't gonna cut it.

The league is always evolving. 2018, the Rams were the #2 scoring team in the NFL. Lost the Superbowl 13-3.

It will evolve again when it becomes clear that the single determining factor on a 53-man roster is the QB. That can't, and won't hold.

If it does, is the NFL worth watching for any team that doesn't have that top-tier QB? Because, think about it, WHO in the league right now do you think can take a team to the SB? Mahomes, Brady (couple of years left, tops), Rodgers (nearing the end), Brees is gone. Wilson (wants out of Seattle), Watson (wants out of Houston), Jackson? Allen? Herbert?

If any of the latter three can do it, that means they can beat Mahomes - and we know that good teams with lesser QBs can beat them.

If you're right, then the NFL has a big problem, an NBA-sized problem. It also means that places like this board really will be forevermore a talk-radio whine-fest than a fan forum.


And in the end, the NFL is a business.

NFL in alot of ways has gone the way of the NBA. in the constant search of "scoring" and "entertainment" so many rules have been put in place that benefit the offenses where teams can barely play defense anymore.

Keep in mind, when Brady lead the league in TD passes in 2002 he threw 28 td's total, Manning had 27 that year.

Now, in 2020, 10 QB's had over 28 TD's. 7 threw over 30 and 3 over 40. and 8 QB's threw over 20 tds. Kirk cousins threw 35 TD's. and we dont consider him some elite QB
