Jones being young is exactly why you don't trade him. You're selling your future when you don't need to.
Same goes for Thuney, imho. He's a better fit at Center long term than Andrews. Especially if we are going to a ground centric offense.

I agree on Jones...except that he's going to get very expensive very soon. They will have two very high level CBs in Jackson and Jones, but I don't know that they will pay them both big money. Of course I'm assuming Gilmore is gone as well. If they have money for both Jackson and Jones, sure, keep them both. I don't know that they can do it.

And Andrews is better at C than Thuney, though Thuney is a great offense lineman.

I think he’s great and he’s our best overall lineman but I think Andrews is still better than Thuney is at center. I feel like Thuney is an A+ guard but at center more of a B+ still good but he had that bad snap that killed that drive. Maybe it’s just me and I’m by no means an offensive line expert but I feel like he’s an elite guard but a good center.

Just my opinion, but I’d take Thuney at C any day of the week. Andrews does the job, but Thuney is above and beyond a better lineman. He’s had one (albeit crucial) mistake. Resign Thuney, Draft a RT and the OL is lookin good.

I look at the Oline as a whole. I'd take Andrews at center and Thuney at left guard over whatever else I've seen.

As opposed to thuney at center and onweso at left guard?

Jones is only going to make about $14 million total in new money over the next 2⅔ seasons (through 2022).

Once again, my opinion here, but:
Wynn-Onwenu-Thuney-Mason
Is better than
Wynn-Thuney-Andrews-Mason
Now if you want to go with Andrews at C and Thuney at RT then I’m good with that. I just think Onwenu is a star in the making at G. But I think Onwenu is much better at G than T.

Yes. But it's close. Center is the commander of the Oline. Andrews is one of the best. You may lose a little in the man or power blocking schemes but he makes up for it in zone. Communication and/or continuity across the line is important too. So I prefer Andrews at center with all of that in mind.

Just think that I would need more from the Eagles than just a straight swop Thuney for Ertz. I still want Thuney to be part of the long term future for our OL.

Ertz is out with an injury for about the next month. Let’s just see give the rookies a chance and keep one of the best guards in football and see what happens.

In such a trade you'd gain a good offensive target but lose offensive blocking. I've always believed the game is pretty much won or lost in the trenches. Tough to win a game when your QB is getting pressured or sacked all day.

Ertz is now on a 4-6 week timeline rather than the original 3-4, and those ankle injuries tend to linger sometimes (with Sanu's career-ender being an extreme example). At this point, he's more of a salary dump for the Eagles than any benefit to his new team.

Ertz is always hurt, great when out there but not out there often enough. I see all these articles about who the Pats should trade for. All the candidates are old and infirm. Don't do it. Everyone blames the receivers all the time but we have had inconsistent Quarterbacking for 3 years now. Cam has shown up passing against only the Seahawks. Yes, not practicing impacts performance but last week he didn't even look the part. Anyway, I do not want to do anything drastic to "save the season". Overreaction this year will mean a continuation of mediocrity for the future. Let BB build the team for the future his way, not overreacting to talking heads.

Thomas is being held out of practice with a tweaked hamstring
AKA he’s on the move.
My guess is Gilmore and a fourth for Thomas?
Thoughts?
Emotional outbursts?

Coming into this season he missed 6 games in 7 years and he has topped 700 yards in every year except his rookie year. I am not saying go all out to trade for him but if he is available for a reasonable price they would be stupid not to explore it unless they plan on being buyers instead of sellers.

Why do we have to give up a 4th? And why the hell would BB want to take on his absurd contract? Is this some one year rental a la Brandin Cooks with little harm to our cap in future years loophole of some kind?

Because Gilmore is 30 and he’s only going to be very good for maybe 2 to 3 seasons.
So it’s not a fair trade for a trade.

You just threw a $5mm bonus to Gilmore. Can't see a trade. Thomas I would love to have but we need more than one.Thuney and Gilmore are arguably our best players. My goal IMO if you want to build this season up to playoff(not Superbowl) staus. those two are an integral part. .Is anyone else on our offense or defense trade worthy?
Looking at Ertz might be a BB "buy low" move whereas he is hurt. He's only 29 and is under contract 3 years more. The Eagles might be looking for picks. It might be smarter of Howie to ask the Pats for G Michael Onwenu (potential and cheap$) with the Eagles CAP being so/so. I'd wait on Ertz for 4 weeks. He can learn the system.
Cam was very effective when he had Olsen in Carolina. We seem to forget that. In only 3 games Ertz has 19 catches versus our fleet of TE with.........6?
You need one more guy.
Browns WR Rashard Higgins I have been pounding the table for. He's cheap. Edelman........0 TDS. Part time Higgins has 2 on a weak Browns Team with two major league WR in front of him. He has some size BUT he gets open. Josh Reynolds of the Rams might be a nice pick up.
Problem is we have "0" trade bait.
I have not given up on Harry. As a matter of fact if he were on Seattle he could be doung Metcalf type numbers or close. Russell just heaves it up. Honestly, the Hawks offense is much more free and unstructured unlike ours. It's like a firedrill and Metcalk gets open while Russell ducks and dodges. Russell holds the ball for 3-4 seconds. Last year Brady was down on the kid. Some of it he deserved but how many targets has Metcalf have in comparrison? Metcalf has 39 so far.
That being said, Harry is a long way off right now. We need another WR asap. But more.....a TE will make a huge difference.
