This is what I saw as well and got me very bullish on Cam's stock. The more I think about it, the more I think it's a perfect marriage between Cam and the Patriots- Cam gets a wakeup call after being laid off three months and becomes more receptive to coaching and improvement, and then goes to the best coached team in the NFL.

Starting off with an outstanding article by Evan Lazar

I'll be adding more content. Please feel free to add more, especially from twitter as I deleted that app because it's gotten so polluted with ads and unwanted tweets.

That’s a good sign...

“Seattle’s defense is no longer the Legion of Boom. But the film shows open receivers running free all over the place...”

Lazar has really polished up his writing and the way he is using GIFs in the last few years. Great and also very accessible stuff. Not a lot of this gatekeeping terminology ******** but instead he actually explains concepts and basic ideas in words.

Great stuff.

I have no plans to rewatch this or any loss unless we win the next Super Bowl, but I did see those film study tweets about Dugger and am a bit confused. All the praise is about his run stuffing and ability to blow up blockers. The problem I have with this being the focal point of his praise is he's supposed to be a rangy defensive back. Is his strength just so impressive that we forgot to point out how good he is in coverage, or is he just not that good in coverage yet? If it's the latter, do you guys think his best fit here is as a linebacker in the Deone Bucannon/Mark Barron/Adrian Phillips role?

Lazar's article highlights four times the Patriots isolated Edelman vs. Adams deep and Cam hit him for around 130 yards over those four completions. Adams is miscast as a safety and he should bill himself as a coverage Big Nickel linebacker.

Lazar posted a clip of him showing good awareness playing deep safety on a play against the Seahawks and also praised his coverage play against the Dolphins (haven't checked if he showed any clips though).

Not sure though where you got this "rangy defensive back" from. By most accounts, he was described as an athletic strong safety who has potential in run support and in nickel sub packages as a TE cover.

Mark Schofield mentioned a couple snaps for Dugger as FS against he Seahawks as well.

The thing to keep in mind when looking at Dugger, Asiasi & co is that they had only zoom meetings until camp. In essence they have been practicing in pro environment now for about 8 weeks. That Dugger is already seeing about 30+ snaps is massive.

He and other rookies will slowly make their way onto more packages and get more responsibility.

You’re right. He’s almost an ideal Money. I didn’t watch the replay, but Seattle seemed to play with 3 LBs a lot on Sunday night.

I disliked his commentary because he seemed like some Madden Geek who didn’t know football, but I’ve changed my mind recently. He provides some quality information/analysis and he’s getting better.

Here’s a gem: “Seattle’s defense is no longer the Legion of Boom. But the film shows open receivers running free all over the place, receivers that supposedly stink.

Imagine that. :)

And then there’s this: “In his first two games with the Patriots, Byrd’s speed has been a factor, even though he wasn’t targeted against Miami.”

You mean the Pats have a speedy receiver. Really? As I live and breathe . . .

So what's the deal here? Better route or better throw for the TD? Someone explain it to me. I don't know anything about route running.

Routes. The other routes were run hard, convincingly and well spaced, meaning no one was close to anyone else. That allowed Edelman with his 6.62 three cone to have room to work on getting separation from the CB covering him.

More importantly, the vertical concept stretched the field and forced the lone MOF defender, Wagner, into a bad matchup with Edelman. Wagner is a LB, not a CB.

No. I want to know how Edelman can get a TD here. It's not like Newton hit Edelman in stride. Should Edelman turn it up field more? Should Newton lead him more? I want a TD here.

He was going to turn upfield but Wagner pulled him OOB.
