NOTES
1) I certainly hope for a signing of upgrades at TE and in the defensive front six.
2) I chose Byrd and Myers. Others are certainly possible, including an addition.

Hoyer is certainly playing well so far, though I still wouldn't be totally shocked if only 2 QBs are kept;

I feel that Soreknee now has a better chance than Miller does of starting the season on the PUP;

Besides the WR listed, Gunner or Jeff Thomas (if he ever decides to show up) could also make the 53 as a Returner/Slot Understudy...Byrd might be needed on the outside;

If the coaches feel good enough about Frodo as our backup Center, then I would keep OneMenu or even Ben Braden and expose Gauthier (who apparently hasn't been off to a great start so far) to waivers;

DL & LB are the same except that I'm giving Derek Rivers one more chance at the expense of De'Jon Scoota Harris (whom I like much more than Straight Cassh Malulu)...The 'roid cheat Copeland is no longer an outside player, so let him move inside if he wants to be here;

And both Mike Jackson & Myles Bryant deserve a roster spot ahead of that less-than-useless pile of crap Terry Brooks.

Yeah the new PS/IR rules are still an unknown factor for me here...guess I should start learning what they are...still don't think Taylor makes the 53 unless both Michel & Lamar Miller cannot answer the bell for the entire month of September...there should be room for Ben Braden on the PS as well...

If Hoyer accepted a flexible PS assignment, that would save us a roster spot;

One of Michel/Miller goes to a PUP/IR list, Jake Johnson (player #58) & JJ Taylor (#62) to the PS;

Gunner has taken advantage of Jeff Thomas(#56)' earlier absence and hasn't looked back, the rest to the PS unless somebody better is available, which is entirely possible, if not likely;

I prefer to keep Braden & his experience & versatility, for now...Herron (#57) & OneMenu (#61) to the PS;

Fat Thor to an IR list;

Terez Hall (#54), Scoota Harris (#59) & Straight Cassh (#60) to the PS;

Mike Jackson (#55) to the PS, Terry Brooks & his cap hit to the curb;

Waterpipe to the PS.

QB (3) C.Newton, B.Hoyer, J.Stidham - I don't think Hoyer (34 yrs) can go to the PS...or can he with the new rules this year ?

WR (6) J.Edelman, M.Sanu, N.Harry, J.Meyers, D.Byrd, G.Olszewski- I agree

Six of the 16 practice squad spots are available for players with any amount of NFL experience. The problem is that Hoyer would be taking about an 80% pay cut now that teams aren’t allowed to pay extra to practice squad guys. I’m guessing he’d just retire instead.

How do you not have Sony Michel making the roster? There is zero chance that happens

Still not sure if Hoyer or any similar vet is eligible for the PS this season...

No FB; I'm keeping Izzo & a 9th OLman instead of Jake Johnson, who should easily clear waivers and can then be sent to the PS to hone his craft...

Yeah I know Izzo sucks, and I would love too see him replaced with an actual decent veteran TE such as Charles Clay, but Bill in his subconscious Tank for Trevah state has thus far refused to add one, so Izzo it is...

Yeah Cachoo is sucking as expected, but Bill will give him one more year to try to figure things out, if for no other reason than to show everyone that he didn't feck up yet another Day 1/2 draft pick (but he did)...

If Nick Folk is our opening day PK, then the Waterpipe will go down in infamy as Bill's Worst 5th-round pick Ever...

Hoyer is eligible. The new CBA allowed 2 PS spots with no experience limitation. The Covid side agreement added 4 more “veteran” spots as well as 4 more overall positions.

If Stidham is healthy, I expect Hoyer to sign onto the practice squad. He’s settled into the area. One million of his salary was guaranteed by the Colts, so he’ll collect that regardless. There are numerous ways the Patriots can pay him the difference between the other million on his Patriots and the $10,500 a week he’d make on the PS. For instance, they could just keep him on the 53 man roster for week one at which time, as a vested vet, the $ 1 million owed to him by the Pats would become guaranteed then move him to the PS starting week 2.

This is what I would do not what I think will happen. I expect Hoyer, Sanu, Bethel to make it and unfortunate cuts will have to be made.

I had a few guys on my 53 that I think could be released or designated to injured reserve: Paul Quessenberry (PS) and Beau Allen (IR). I added them as placeholders for a replacement player at that position, possibly a waiver claim or via trade.

I think we need a 3rd TE/HB who could back up at FB behind Jakob Johnson and Dalton Keene. This team's identity may resemble the Ravens with Lamar Jackson.

Beau Allen is a placeholder for an interior defensive lineman that I think we need. Run heavy teams that we play: Baltimore, San Francisco, Seattle, Buffalo twice, and Houston. I like Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler. Byron Cowart could be 3rd on depth chart. And Bill Murray (PS) behind that.

I don’t think Hoyer has qualified for the practice squad since the mid 2000s.

H.Froholdt has been practicing a both Center and Guard (several teams were going to draft him to play Center before the Pats nabbed him). He is now effectively Andrews backup...which is not a bad thing...he's easily an upgrade from J. Ferentz. And J.Herron has been practicing at G...since he has experience there. I'v read reports he's been holding his own.
