NFL.COM Patriots set to collapse, One of worst 3 teams in the league

1. FEWER wins.
2. I'll take that bet.

If you want to bet Pats vs. Bucs, I'm game, but given that the Bucs are seen by most as a 9 win team at worst, you aren't really putting yourself out there if you believe that the 2020 Pats have 5-11 written all over them.

Confused. What are we going to bet? What is your charity of choice? Thanks!

He had worse talent in 206. HE wasn't what he used to be time wins in the end. BB tried to protect him last year injuries derailed the plan.

Back in 206 Tom Brady's talent were painting themselves blue and chucking spears. Or was that the Scots?

Bold NFL predictions: Cowboys roll, Seahawks stumble, Pats collapse

Talking about a hot take...sheesh. I so hope there is a season and if so I can't wait for it to begin so they can shut up the entire league and just do "what the Patriots do" --- WIN.

"This season in Foxborough has 5-11 written all over it. If everything breaks right. I think the Jaguars, Patriots and Giants are the three worst teams in the NFL right now."

At this rate Bill will win Coach of the Year for 8-8.

I think our ceiling is 11-5 team and once in the playoffs anything can happen.

Our worst is probably 7-9 Belichick too good of a coach

MUCH more good than bad, for me.

Patriots prior to 2001:

20 winning seasons

18 losing seasons

3 .500 seasons

And most of the losing seasons also had either promise, excitement, individual performances and records, some exceptionally bad luck to the point of humor, some entertaining and funny episodes and anecdotes, or some combination of any or all of the above which in my biased opinion surpass any other franchise in history.

I was there in person or watched on TV every one of those games during those seasons and every game after that. As frustrating as some were, it was still my team and still is. I look forward to the future of the Pats. I will never count out BB. I have had so much enjoyment by being a Pats fan since day one in 1960. Have I been a part of winning enough SBs, never but imagine never getting to the dance or winning.

Thanks for your post.

I think the Pats will wind up at 8-8 this season (as long as there are 16 games played). No AFC East title and no playoffs. Get a good mid-round choice in the 1st round of the 2021 draft and fill some holes with solid talent.

Schien's prediction is the only one I have seen with the Pats having that bad of a record. Most people are picking us to win 9 or 10 games. I do think if the Pats win the division with 10 wins or more, BB will get serious consideration for COY.

The look of the Pats with Brady at QB will in no way resemble the Pats with Stidman at QB...

I think they will have more options on Offense especially with the stable of RB's. Stidman brings more mobility at the QB position than Brady did so there is that element other teams have to plan for........I can't wait to see what Josh comes up with for the 2020 Offense.....
I sense that Brady did not raise the level of other players by the end, that he intimidated and broke them. Look at our young receiving core's development over the last few years. There is a reason the Patriots made no effort to keep Brady. Brady did not leave, he was left. This action might be just what is needed to get Brady back in a better mindset for a season or two but it is a long season and at 43 I really wonder if he can stay healthy enough to recover from even regular game day wear and tear.

Because it’s devoid of all context. Brady had one of the worst if not the worst WR corps in the league
And did Brady have any part in this? He seems to crush new players. They have to earn his trust. That was a very different construct than young Brady

The assumption on here still relies on this idea that Brady who had similar stats as 6 years ago when his offense sucks is really the problem and Stidham will somehow be better.

Meyers and Harry aren’t the first rookies who looked good in training camp and pre season and did nothing in the real show. I remember 2015 when everyone was gaga over Harper’s pre season and he did nothing in actual games and has been on 5 teams since between the NFL and CFL.

Not that getting on the same page with Harry would have mattered since he was injured and the two TE’s were so bad that Bill viewed it as a draft priority.

I think it’s incredible wishful thinking to believe that Brady was the real problem with an offense nearly everyone identified as being talent devoid and the 4th round rookie is going to come in and show what a real QB can do

It'll be one of those weird things where everyone predicts 4-12 or 5-11 but when Belichick puts up a 10-6 they still don't give COY to him....

In 206 AD, Norv the Lesser, king of Zapotec in what is now northern Mexico, invented the prevent defense and inspired his vast armies with the slogan, "Juega Para No Perder!"

Did Bill Belichick retire and I missed it? Cheezus. :poop:

This guy came just a bit prior

Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus - Wikipedia

His agnomen, Cunctator, usually translated as "the delayer", refers to his strategy of withdrawal thereby wearing out the enemy without engaging in any direct battle.

The gung-ho macho military types hated him, and when they finally removed his command, they attacked and of course got their asses kicked.
