If it is left up to ESPN
episode 1 focuses on the tuck rule
episode 2 focuses on "they hate their coach" and Adam's SB winning kick
episode 3 focuses on McNabb being a choker
episode 4 focuses on the Tyree catch
episode 5 focuses on the Manningham catch
episode 6 focuses on what they will claim was a historically bad play call by Pete Caroll
episode 7 focuses on a historic choke by Atlanta
episode 8 focuses on Philly special
episode 9 focuses on offensive ineptitude

Agreed. It’s gonna take a few years for the haters to get over their blind hatred and jealousy for Brady after he retires to really appreciate what he was. The Goat. Still playing and doing this which seems as a consensus that it’s copycat. He’d have to really give a lot more of himself for this to be a blockbuster must see. Yeah, that means putting all the allegations and myths out there from his point of view. Not standard Patriots speak which the whole country has grown tired of “Do your job, one game at a time, control what you can control”

It will go off well for the Brady fans but not so sure for the rest of fans. Unfortunately, Chaos, controversy and scandal rule the ratings for the most part in America.

Honestly, I thought Montana or Rice would of been next for BSPN recent success. Jordan saved their asses during this covid. Too bad.
Hard to do Montana/Rice when Brady has achieved so much more than them. Brady makes sense even if he is still playing. I think because his story is still going on, the viewership may be even more intense because everyone old and young has watched him play unlike Jordan.

In terms of the Patriots speak, I don't think you will get that from Brady at all especially now that he is with Tampa and can really let loose.

Brunell will be there to cry for each of them.

I just watched an interview with an ex-mobster who said that Michael's father was murdered because of Michael's gambling. He didn't know the details (why or who), but he was sure that it was a hit and it was related to MJ's addict-level gambling.

“anti Brady” lmao. Gotta love that straw man. So funny how personally some take it when we stick with our own team instead of cheering for their binky and his new team to win a Super Bowl.

Nope that's not why Silly Billy #1. Try again.

LOL, the only ones who have their wittle feelwings hurt are the Brady sycophants who get angry when the self-important icon has something derogatory said about him.

Are you one of them?
Well, you describe Brady in derogetory terms and you do the same with Brady fans. What are people supposed to think? Im not defining you. Your own words do.

I'm excited to see this, though waiting a few years after retirement would have been a better timeframe.
He's actually smart not to wait. Nobody knows how it'll go with the Bucs; he could end his career with a whimper or with a bang. If a bang he can add another chapter and come out with another video, otherwise he's done and benefitted from this production.

Brady’s achievements will stand the test of time.......yet he doesn’t want to wait.

His self serving attempts to promulgate, control, and steer his own narrative are so brazen and perversely counterintuitive to the humble, overachieving athlete who once was the epitome of team first.

Now.... not so much....not even close.

Self-funding a nine episode tribute to oneself, or should I be more accurate, a nine episode infomercial full of spiritual lessons, self congratulations and product placement is needy, unseemly, desperate.......
and totally unnecessary.

“Gather my camera crew, my narrative needs adjustment”

Oh Tom.....going full Kardasian may fill your pockets....but this self funded vanity project may not advance your legacy in the direction you apparently crave so badly.

Killing two people didn't hurt Ray Lewis' legacy one bit. I think Brady will do fine even though he chose to make a mini-series about his career.

I’m gonna say that killing two people is the first or second thing that the vast majority of people immediately associate with Ray Lewis.

I’m going to say it’s a joke to most people, the rest of them ignore it because of the lack of full transparency, and only a minority of people strongly hate him for it

Yes, that's correct, but I was thinking more of his football legacy and the fact that he was honored with a statue.

Not sure I'm afraid if that's really true outside of New England...

Brady leaving may end up being a good thing in that we all finally get some inside dirt before we die.

Brady will never be the sports brand that Jordan is.

The big difference is that Jordan marketed from the start of his career to the end with things like Nike. Brady attached himself to high end luxury brands for a long time the average person wasn’t using or niche things like uggs. Under Armour didn’t even happen until 2010 well into his career.

Jordan was a world class marketer

I'd rather Brady have editorial control than ESPN.

Strange to us, not to him. I suspect Brady thinks of his life's work in stages, and that an entrepreneur's mental model has overtaken an athlete's mental model:
  1. success in pro football
  2. launch product based business on the back of that success, linking the products with the success as much as possible.
  3. spend his last years in pro football in a second geography, creating more attention and opportunity to grow the business
  4. post football business development
  5. sell the business at its peak, if possible.
But since he didn’t need to do anything but focus on football, I don’t really like the branding efforts

Tom & Giselle have far more wealth than Jordan or Manning did, so the branding is really just ego driven. Don’t get me wrong, he has every right to pursue whatever he chooses. But he did seem to start getting more moody around the “Tom vs Time” period

Probably in the minority here but I liked the old Brady better.. this "legacy series" on a career that is not over it a tad premature..

Gotham Chopra is doing this so it probably will be good..

It almost seems as though Brady is "unleashed" in "Tompa Bay or Tampa Brady" to market himself now and in the future...
It's over. As measured by SB's. He'll still put up some stats. Go to the Playoffs. But the competition is what he was when he was younger.

Episode 1: Wow this was once in a lifetime

Episode 2: They did it again!

Episode 3: We are going to run this league forever!

Episode 4: Tie me to the tracks

Episode 5: They did it again?!?!

Episode 6: A near death experience

Episode 7: Years shaved off my life

Episode 8: Crying on the sideline

Episode 9: I’ll take it!

Brady will never be the sports brand that Jordan is.

I don’t know if anyone will.

Jordan built a brand around himself and had almost no competition. Thirty years later, it’s the norm, and it’s unlikely anyone will stand out again like that.
