You can find the answers with google, go ahead and figure it out. You don't need me to do it for you. Or, you can continue to wonder. I suppose it is up to you.

I’ve done my research. Forumate an argument for yourself

Do you think being poor makes it easier or harder, or more or less likely to make the nba or nfl

3 black coaches=9.3 percent of the head Coaching population

African American population=13.5 percent.

very strong claim without any real evidence

Thanks, I don't know how many black coaches are qualified for the HC job and who didn't get the job because of color. I will say 9.3 vs 13.5 are very close considering. If the 4% differential is qualified black HC candidates that got turned down because of color then I don't like that.

So you're agreeing the last time we saw Cam, he sucked. Now all you have to do is acknowledge that probably has something to do with why he's unsigned.

Now you're just talking nonsense. He sucked (because he was injured), but Dalton and Fitz have always sucked ass, but they're still around. And I know it's not recent, but Cam has been to a Super Bowl and won playoff games. When's the last time Fitz and Dalton have done that? But I know you're going to just feign ignorance. Go ahead.

The numbers I posted weren’t in response to you. Just a general statement. Only what was below what I quoted and bolder was in responsep

Past performance is not an assurance of future production. The last time Cam Newton was on a football field, he sucked, and his skin color was irrelevant....he simply sucked.

Additionally, he sucked with some pretty good skill position talent.

He's a career 59% passer entering his 30's.

No, I'm not saying black HCs have been more successful. But I am saying more white people have had more opportunities at HC, and you can't deny that.
Because there are significantly more white people and candidates.
Is your argument that a minority that is 12.5% of the population should get 50% of the jobs?

Since the number has been higher more often than not in recent years, and no one can point to an egregious case of a qualified minorities being overlooked, I’d say no that’s not the case.

Wait you think newton wasn’t offered a starting job because of racism? Really?

That question has been answered about 20 times in this thread. Seriously, go use google and educate yourself.
How can I educate myself to your misperceptions without you answer questioned about them?

As crazy as this proposal is and it is crazy, the problem is actually worse.

Anyone who thinks, well, "the best will get hired" , "the best will rise to the top" is being incredibly naive. If not disingenuous all together.

It's an awful idea and I'm not for it but denying there's a problem, a big problem, is out of touch to say the least.

We're talking about humans here. Counting on rich, ignorant humans who haven't gotten it right so far.

Again this proposal is a joke but the issue and problems are that bad.

By what yardstick have they not gotten it right so far? No one wants to seem to answer what “right” looks like.

Secondly do you truly believe that nfl teams would ignore the best candidate that gives their franchise the best chance at success because they refuse to hire a minority?

70% of players are African American. With such high participation, it it clear that more than 12% would be coaches. I have no idea what the number should be, but it should be higher than it is currently
What does the percent of players have to do with the race of coaches?

Coaches are hired and paid to do one thing, win football games. When we think about the skills required to be a successful coach, does the percent of NFL players that are black have anything to do with the skills required?

More black people in positions of power in the league. How was this not clear? The exact numbers we could bicker about, but significantly more than now I think would be the consensus.

It appears clear what the consensus is for PatsFans.

But what is more? What indicates the current level is not enough?
If no one can give even a ball park number but make comments like we could bucker about the exact number, how do you determine that it is too low?
It the % of HC exactly matches the % of black population is that acceptable?
There has to be a yardstick, you can’t just say it’s not enough but we won’t discuss what enough is.

And I will add that you just respond to my comment that no one seems to want to define what is “right” by refusing to define it.

Because you'd think the majority of black players in the NFL, who know the game inside and out, who've been playing since they were kids, would make up a higher percentage of head coaches. I don't know why this is a crazy thought. MLB - majority white players, majority white coaches. NHL - majority white players, majority white coaches. NFL/NBA - majority black players, majority white coaches?

There really is no magical number because no one should even be keeping score. Identity politics is ugly and unnecessary

I think the argument is that the owners have some kind of implicit racism that’s making them believe that white people are more qualified or better fit to coach the team?

I couldn’t agree more.
But people who say it is a problem should be able to identify why it is a problem.

He said he was open to a backup role, though. And unless you can tell me what teams he's actually turned down, you don't know the situation any better than I do, yet you assume you do.
