Great list. Now name me all the white QBs. Including backup QBs. I'm sure the list is much larger. And since you brought up Cam Newton, looks like he's still a free agent. Yet ****ing Andy Dalton and Fitzpatrick still have jobs. Or are you going to tell me those guys are way more qualified to be in the NFL than him?

Because I’m sure Cam Newton is ready to settle for a backup job lol. It takes 2 parties to agree to a contract

That definition is too narrow.
For example it leaves actions such as hiring only one race because you think they “fit in” better, or only renting to whites people because all of the other people in the building are white and they would feel more comfortable, or many other ways of treating someone differently solely because of their race, such as giving favorable competitive treatment based upon the race of who you hire.

The examples you use strangely only go one direction.

Off topic - Is Tuskegee University a racist institution based on your logic?

That doesn't mean they have an advantage. There are specific reasons why African Americans go into certain sports. It has a lot to do with mentors and role models....It is a sign of the structural inequality in our socio-economic system. There have been a lot of studies, you might choose to look at and educate yourself. Or you can just half-arse it from the peanut gallery.

why do white kids playing HS football not make top 300 lists as often as black kids? Why aren’t they 5 star recruits as often as black kids?

Poverty effects black people more than white people right. So white kids should have better access to facilities/coaches to help them privately and nutrition?

You can find the answers with google, go ahead and figure it out. You don't need me to do it for you. Or, you can continue to wonder. I suppose it is up to you.

And there are a lot of reasons why white people go into coaching.
You are using a raw number, a number by the way which indicates equal opportunity because the % of AA coaches represents their % of population pretty closely.
Then you are saying since they are represented 5 times more as players, because there are specific reasons why they more often become players, that they should be more heavily represented as coaches with no evidence at all that there are reasons they more often become coaches.
Again the pool of coaches starts with high school players which largely match the population ratios, so why would the pool of coaches be expected to match the % of professional players?

I don't expect it to match the percentage of players, I am saying it should be higher than it is.

How much higher?
Why?
If hc of nfl team is considered a great job and 12.5% of Americans are black and 12.5% of hc are black what reasons would there be to consider this unfair?

What you say is true if we have a level playing field. We still don't. It's a lot more level than it was 50 years ago but there's still a long way to go.
You seem very ignorant of history.
The Rooney rule is a good thing..
The so-called idea in this thread of course, is ridiculous.

A long way to go toward what goal? Pardon my ignorance of history.

I do find this entire thing hilarious.

That question has been answered about 20 times in this thread. Seriously, go use google and educate yourself.
The question has been avoided.
You think that google is going to determine what % of coaches should be black? Really?

I like the idea of the proposal, but not the actual proposal itself. It is a conversation starter and should be a useful tool to get a better outcome than the Rooney Rule. Maybe a digger deep into the issue (if there is one) will emerge because of this proposal. There is a chance that the actual number of minority candidates is not as large of a number as the % of minorities in this country. More info is needed, but I like the idea of making sure the "good ole' boy" network isn't a substantial reason for the low percentage of minority hires. Good discussion everyone.

God? in CA? WTF. Atheism maybe, but God...hmmm?

If the Gods are in CA and NY, does that mean all the demons are in all the other states? These are big questions, thanks for the "heady" thoughts.

Define better outcome. You say "dig deeper into the issue (if there is one)". Isn't this part of the problem? Digging in a search for a problem vs solving an actual one.

What about the nba? 75

You criticized the browns for having a white coach.

Are you implying black head coaches have been incredibly successful?
Plus why would you equate a coaches success with his color?
Is there something about a persons race that would predetermine their success, or are people just people and each individual has their own abilities?

No, I'm not saying black HCs have been more successful. But I am saying more white people have had more opportunities at HC, and you can't deny that.

Last time we saw them (Dalton and Fitz), they could throw.

Last time we saw Cam, he couldn't throw.

Kind of a prerequisite to playing QB.

Not very complicated.

So.

More black people have had more opportunities at WR. Let's keep going on this.

This is a joke, right? Cam was injured. But, wow, you'd pick Fitz and Dalton over Cam. Jesus. You make it sound like Cam is Tim Tebow or something.

Based on your logic, the white poverty stricken portions of West Virgina should produce some serious athletes.

You should notify some NFL GMs. They're really missing some fertile recruiting ground.

Which is not a leadership role, which was the main reason I brought it up. Let's not keep going on this.

So you're agreeing the last time we saw Cam, he sucked. Now all you have to do is acknowledge that probably has something to do with why he's unsigned.
