Has the other discussion bar (listed under the main header) been a useful feature? I've noticed threads that pop up in other forums do seem to get a little more discussion, which is obviously great since that was the point - trying to make them easier for people to spot - but I wanted to ask that question in this thread as well.

I can't speak for everyone on it, but I've used it a little. It's less helpful when most of the posts being linked to are from the same sub-forum, and especially so when they're from the same thread, but it does offer a way to do a quick check about a thread you'd not usually even see.

Virtual Fainting Couches for the GDTs?

Just an FYI - you can block out threads you don't want to see by hitting that button on the lower right and "hiding" it, if that helps.

Also, it only shows the thread, not multiple posts. Multiple posts just update the one thread block. I know some of the draft threads look the same based on the title, but they are different and it updates based on the latest date of the recent thread ids outside of this forum.

Not sure why that's happening. Are you clicking the checkbox when you login to stay logged in? I've heard of a couple of people also having that issue but I haven't changed anything here in months (aside from adding the new emojis, but that shouldn't do it)...?
On my Mac..... remain logged in for weeks which is great
On my IPhone.....remain logged in for less than 24 hours (with box checked) which blows big ones

We should probably change the name to something less inflamatory. To many people have cut themselves opening boxes to use that term.

"Suggestion Bin" won't work as many people are forced to shop in clearance bins, and it may remind them of the rampant inequality that has always victimized them.

"Suggestion Bucket" sounds good at first glance, but too many people associate bucket with "kicking the bucket", and thinking about death is far too disturbing for most of the population.

"Suggestion Container" is better, but the word suggestion is far too forceful and would certainly offend countless folks.

"Container of Potentially Useful Ideas" is good, but but several of the letters aren't capitalized, and that certainly isn't fair.

Thus, I propose "CONTAINER OF POTENTIALLY USEFUL IDEAS". Though this will likely still offend someone, I'm unable to imagine something less offensive for this purpose.

Add a ‘Sad Tompa’ emoji

and a ‘Nike GM dog” as well

It feels like you’re shouting at me.

My suggestions:

- Allowing us to select in our settings to view 100+ posts on a single page (currently it defaults to 20 per page which makes a 100 post thread 5 pages long instead of a single page). I would love to even have 200-300 posts per page if even possible (I only see 125 as the highest setting on other vBullentin boards).

- Reducing the size of signature lines. As much as I love some sig lines...the bigger ones with GIF's or pictures just make me scroll more.

- Perhaps add a GIF selector like they have on Facebook so I don't need to search for cool GIF's, download them, and then upload them here. Not sure if this is an easy thing to do...think you would need to link to a GIF database of some sort.

I hear you. But I wasn't implying any thread was bad. I was just noting that one thread can overwhelm that top bar. There's probably not much you can do about it, since the bar is seemingly just a running "last" system. So, if a thread is a hot topic, it'll dominate the bar. It's just part of that sort of system. And that's probably how it should be. I just have a habit of doing heavy analysis when asked to do any.

You can still hide any threads that you're not interested in as they come across. That way, if it updates, you won't see it. Have you tried that out yet?

I've pulled it up. I can't recall if I actually used it. most threads on the bar are even more transitory, in terms of interest, than those in the main forum, so it's not something I'd normally use.

Seriously? Maybe that's why his username didn't auto complete when I @'ed him
Self ban. He said he was going over to Patriots Planet where they don’t care how big or small your penis is.

I use it quite a bit and think it was a great addition to the site. The suggestion I'd have is to add a capability to block threads from a given forum from populating in the discussion bar if possible. The draft forum threads overwhelm the discussion bar quite often, seems like I'm always blocking them. I enjoy the draft forum when I go there but if I don't block the threads from the bar as they populate it ends up being all that's there.

Oh, they care. They care a good deal, they certainly spend enough time on the subject

Yeah he threw a temper tantrum when his posts got deleted like it was a national tragedy that his precious words were lost and then he burned it all down in a rage and called the mods a buncha names.

Something seems up with him, guy has become less and less chill as he's aged. Roid rage/testosterone therapy maybe?

I hope he finds his center and comes back.

On occasion I accidentally hit the reply button and the text is now in all threads I visit. Usually I backspace to get rid of it and if there is a lot...it’s kind of a pain. I suppose it could help those typing up long posts as well if they want to remove it.

How about a “Clear” button that removes that text in that field ?

you are likely hitting the “quote” button instead of “reply.” also, there is a delete button for any drafts.
