They were 12-4 last year. Name the wins that would have been losses with an average QB.
Few if any.
This wasn’t a bad team carried by a QB. They are a good team and are good unless the QB hands games away. Give them an average QB (say 12th to 20th best) and they are a contender.

Sorry, just doesn’t work that way. Even though Brady didn’t have a career year, it’s not only touchdowns and yards that help win games.

Putting the line in the right position, not taking a sack, getting rid of the ball...all help field position and make the opposing team drive the full field. Not throwing interceptions doesn’t give the opposing team a short field and put pressure on the defence.

It’s not as simple as saying name one game that would have made a difference with a different QB. The QB has a significant effect on all games.

Seriously, at that price and for a backup role. We clearly had no interest.
That’s the QB market nowadays. The days of Brady on a cheap deal and a rookie contract at back up are gone

Andy Dalton is heading back home to Texas.

Dalton, who grew up in Texas and played his college football at TCU, is signing a one-year deal with the Cowboys, PFT has confirmed. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the deal guarantees Dalton $3 million and gives him the opportunity to make up to $7 million.

Thank God this nonsense is over.

Now we are down to: Stidham, Hoyer, or Newton......for our week 1 starter...

Hypothetically if we had interest would he have taken less money to compete for the starting role here as opposed to backing up Dak for more money?

My guess is no. He has a house near Dallas and there’s no state income tax here, creating an even bigger discrepancy in pay. But who knows?

Move along. Nothing to see here.

No it’s not it’s points.

An average QB can do that well enough to win when the defense allows 7 points.

So you can’t name one?
I am saying take the effect out qb had, significant as it was and replace it with an average Qb and point to the games that would turn to losses. It a pretty simple question.

On the PFT front page there is an article that Pats are the betting favorite to land Dalton.

I wonder what are the current odds on Stidham starting game 1 are now, even money?

Approximately half of PFT posters feel Dalton would do better than Prescott. Not a lot of love for a QB given the franchise tag.

Would any team offer at least a 1st Rd 2021 draft pick for Zak?

Cowboys?

Dak Prescott???????

Cowboys?

Dak Prescott???????

Prescott's not signed yet, and the soulless ginger would have enough firepower around him to keep the team afloat during an injury stretch, which he wouldn't have gotten in New England. It's not an awful signing by the Cowboys from that perspective. It's just the wrong one (Newton would have been the better choice, IMO).

Newton definitely would make more sense. I guess I was thinking maybe it was to put pressure on Prescott, in some coke addled Jones' power move.

But you're prolly right haha.

If the Pats wanted Newton they would have signed him already imo.

It’s Hoyer to start with JS4 ready to take his rightful place hopefully for a very long time when the time is right.

Imagine being this confident in your wrong opinion

Where does Scam Newton end up now?

Newton must be shot if the 'Girls are signing the Red Popgun...it's time to grow another iteration of Patriots championship football. If BB thinks Stids has the goods I'm fine with that...for obvious reasons.
