Gronk trade completed

Pats fans spinning this whole situation in a positive light are ****ing delusional. This is a nightmare. Let's see how cheery everyone is when Brady throws for 50tds and the Pats go 8-8.
Going 8-8 would be a success. Lol.

I stated in a previous post that giving up on a 19th pick in the draft poses major red flags. Everyone sees a name that went high in a draft and start screaming we have got to gett him. I think he is a bust and want no part of him. BB obviously thought the same or he would have been part of the deal

Certainly hasn't lived up to his potential or draft slot.

But that doesn't mean his career is over or that he can't get it going for another team. Thats why I wouldn't mind him here. Belichick has turned around less talented guys careers before. Recently Van Noy was a 2nd round bust for the Lions, and turned into a very good player here.

Too many are thinking of the Gronk in his prime. The last time I saw Gronk play, he ran like he had a load in his pants

Completely agree.........I wanted Gronk to stay retired. No one wants to see the bada$$ Gronk not be bada$$

But who knows, maybe he just needed a year off to recover. If nothing else it should be interesting.

Zero cap impact on the Patriots trading his rights
I thought we couldn’t have him on the roster if he unretired? Couldn’t Tampa have forced Pats to cut him?

So many here defended him on that. Well now we know that in addition to that specific ring it has now cost him

-winning 7 titles and having more SB’s as a coach than any franchise

-the GOAT QB

-the GOAT TE who only would play Witt the GOAT QB

We don't know that for sure, but there's a HELL of a lot of smoke coming out of that game. Or a very big wake behind it. Take your pick of which metaphor you want to use, but that seems to be where this all started.

The Pats only have 1.1 million in cap space, so we couldn’t trade for OJ Howard without freeing up additional space.

If we sign or move Thuney we would have enough space for Howard, so something may Happen on Thursday during the draft.

Howard’s 2020 cap number of 3.5 is a nice
Friendly number.

According to OTC, they could take him right now ($2,800,000 base and $1.2m in combined workout and per game bonuses) . They would need to make adjustments to sign their upcoming draftees (current cap space $4,973,799).
He has another $2.5 million in catch incentives that are LTBE since he had 100 last season. OTC threw that in the “other bonus” column.

I missed that one. Thanks for pointing it out. That would put him over what's available.

Was responding to "Surprised we could trade him given the cap situation."

This is already looking like “The Last Dance”.

I think it's because they are trading him that it has no impact.

Ah yeah, I mean I’m surprised we could trade him because I didn’t think it was realistic to add him to the roster. I would have thought Tampa would force us to cut him. Wouldn’t it have been difficult to get Gronk on the books if we had to?

I’m probably in the minority but I have no ill will at all towards Gronk or Brady. They have given this team so much through the years I wish them the best of luck in TB and if we aren’t competitive I hope they win another ring. Gronk put his body through absolute hell for this team, I completely understand wanting to come back to a much more laid back and relaxed situation. There is no doubt BB can be difficult to play for but that is the price of his greatness.

I supported Gronk's retirement decision (but not how he strung it out) especially when I read statements about his cranium status after concussions. I do NOT think it's good for him to play but I understand a tiny bit how it must feels to quit playing something you really like. Selfishly, I do look forward to watching the boys play (whenever that happens) down here near Tamper.

Apparently he re-followed him. If you look above, in the screenshot of this Tyler Sullivan the number of people he's following is 1187. In yours it's 1188
