Gronk trade completed

Buccaneers now are poised to have three notable tight ends - Rob Gronkowski, OJ Howard and Cameron Brate - on their roster. Two days before the draft, they do not have any pending trade for Howard.

Update: Rob Gronkowski already has taken his physical in Boston with a neutral physician and is awaiting the official results, though one source added he believes he passed “with flying colors.” Once physical is passed, Gronkowki will be a Buc and reunited with Tom Brady.

Gronk has now passed his physical. Trade is for him and 7th for Bucs fourth-round selection.

As only @RobGronkowski can do just got voice message from him with simply and Gronkly said, “I’m baaaaaackkkkkk!” He’s stoked. All moved very quickly @NFLonFOX

Man...that Tampa offense looks unreal right now.

Hope we get to see it.

I think we see at least 2 more of our players get traded.
I don’t know having Edelman with a young QB will do nothing but help that QB.
But I’d love to continue the youth movement.
Torn about it

Edelman should retire. That way he can force BB to trade him and 4th round pick to Tampa He gets his 7th round pick back so he can draft a value player.

Ah.

My view is in their respective cases, the issue was about money and the working environment. Not BB the person but BB the manager/policy maker.

So in that context no, I don't care what Tom and Gronk think of BB. They've both publicly said very nice things about BB but have also publicly said he is a tough guy to play for.

As fan viewing the situation from afar, it seems both sides are OK with the separation.

Agreed.

Gronk was a dead asset, who'd put up declining numbers and has a price to his contract. He was also only going to play for one team. There was no leverage. They were lucky to get more than a 5th, and they probably would have been looking at a 6th without the Brady comfort factor for the Bucs.

I think the leverage was gronk needed a deal or he goes home with his ****. You dont give him away after he won a super bowl with a huge catch. Then rested for a year with max sexercize for his lungs . Hes stil in his quasi prime.

A dead asset in what way? Clearly he was coveted in Tampa and Brady wanted him there.

Having only one team to deal with is all the leverage. You don't need to trade Gronk, at all. If Tampa wants Gronk, they should pay for Gronk. Not sure how you could say the team didn't have leverage.

He was retired, and he wasn't going to play for the Patriots again.

To all the complainers...these are the type of deals that make BB..well, BB...

Would I have loved to see a higher return like a 3rd ? Sure. But at the same time a 4th is better than keeping the rights to a player who has no intention of suiting up. Can't believe people are pissed about that.

Now we need Edelman traded to the Bucs.

I loved watching Gronk play. I will be very surprised if both he and Tom Brady make it through the year without missing any time though.

we need a way to have some physicality on offense, Something that Gronk and Moss brought to the table. Last year the receivers could not get open and had no separation whatsoever. It was almost painful to watch.

Pats fans spinning this whole situation in a positive light are ****ing delusional. This is a nightmare. Let's see how cheery everyone is when Brady throws for 50tds and the Pats go 8-8.

I don’t know. He looked done that last season aside from that one catch.

He might have an occasional moment or two, but I think that’ll probably it. I’m more glad it was him and not Edelman we traded.

I'm sure Edelman wants to join the party in Tampa...

I do want to say there is a lot of trash talk because Brady has left town but if Brady stayed and Gronk decided to come back here that instead of some in here saying Gronk is on decline you would be so excited about his return and buying your Super Bowl tickets in september - Gronk is on decline because he is going to Tampa - come on now, some of you gotta admit that is behind your thoughts

Three 3rds and two 4ths create some options in the draft. Two years ago they made eight trades on day two and three. Over/under this year?

He made tough catches in the 4th quarter of the AFC championship and superbowl. Yes, his overall game in the receiving department in 2018 was not what it once was, but he was still clutch. Oh, and he was a better blocker even in 2018 than all of out TEs in 2019 combined.

He was retired, and he wasn't going to play for the Patriots again.
Duly noted, but he's under contract and we own his rights.

What's our incentive to give him away? That's the leverage portion. Does a 4th round pick entice you to just give away one of the greatest TE to play the game? Doesn't for me.

You can hold onto Gronk and tell his childish ass along with Tampa to go pound sand unless we get what we ask for. That's literally leverage.

Gronk stays retired, team gets nothing.

Gronk un-retirees, team gets a 4th rounder.

It's very simple arithmetic, they basically got money for nothing.

Bruh, you do realize that NEITHER of them are suiting up for NE ever again... in this lifetime? Right???
