Gronk trade completed

And all last year...
How many times speculations if we was going to return or stay retired...
And now back with ANOTHER team...

Their 117th pick is fair value for a soon to be 31year old player who is in decline, injury prone and going to cost TB $10m.

BB just found $200 on the street.

Fans should be psyched at this development.
Did they get #117 or #139?.
I agree with you on the found money part but as one poster stated, BB hasn't won many deals lately. The old BB would have gotten at least a 3rd.
No leverage....no CAP. We are paying older dudes more dollars like D Mac.

Why would anyone be mad at Gronk? Yea, he ****ed over the Pats, but BB tried to **** over Gronk. It’s all business.

Go New England Bucs.

How did BB try and screw over Gronk?

You'd like to give up another asset to get him? What sense does that make?

This was the perfect scenario to acquire a young TE with promise with no real loss and it was somehow screwed up to epic proportions.

No, I don't, but that's because I don't think he's any good. If you want a good blocking tight end to catch 30 balls, then sign Charles Clay.

So isn't stock higher then? Gronk can't have a market with other teams??

No

No

Tampa Bay was the only place that Rob Gronkowski wanted it was willing to play, per league source. So if Gronkowski passes his physical, he will get his wish.

Its weird, I still love Brady, I will be rooting for him except if/when he plays the Pats. But I'm no longer a Gronk fan. It sucks that this happened, and it sucked that he took so long last offseason to decide to retire. In interviews after he retired, he said he knew during the SB that he was gonna retire. So he ****ed the Pats over because the Pats couldn't attempt to sign a replacement in free agency, because it was almost over by the time he said he was retiring. So I hold a grudge for that. Now my dislike for him is even deeper because of this nonsense. I'm glad he's gone.

Of course, the Pats ****ed themselves over by not drafting any decent TEs in the 2018 & 2019 drafts. They now have three 3rds and two 4ths, they BETTER ****ing pick some TEs (and I mean plural) in this draft.
Agreed, my love for Gronk is all but gone. I will remember him for ****ing the Pats over and his absurdly embarrassing TV/WWE appearances.

Bill really should have played Butler in that Super Bowl. Man.

To all the complainers...these are the type of deals that make BB..well, BB...

You'd have to think a year off really helped his body though...he probably still can go for another year or two.

I don’t know. He looked done that last season aside from that one catch.

He might have an occasional moment or two, but I think that’ll probably it. I’m more glad it was him and not Edelman we traded.

The way this year is going for the Pats I have a better chance of having 24 hours of sex with say Abella Danger than the Pats do of getting pick 117.

Playing for Loose Arians is what he wants, the question is how much he'll give to Loose:

"I just took 50 collisions and the next day everyone wants you to be up. They want practice to be full speed. The next week, they want the game to be full speed but they don't understand what players are going thru with their bodies or their minds." - Gronk on his 2018 experience

Good luck and stay healthy, Gronk. That fluid draining story was scary and along with the other issues you've had goes to show this game beats the **** out of you.

Regards,
Chris

This was the perfect scenario to acquire a young TE with promise with no real loss and it was somehow screwed up to epic proportions.

I mean that is your assumption which might be bit biased because of where he was drafted. Maybe it is hard to imagine that not everyone will value a TE who has done nothing of consequence after being picked in the first round and was put onto the trade block.

Just maybe there is a reason why nobody has acquired him yet while teams rather sign the corpse of Jimmy Graham.

So I don't know.. lets not go all hyperbole and call it some epic screw-up.

I'm not saying it wasn't mutual. An employee's view of their boss is a thing, was all I was pointing at.
Ah.

My view is in their respective cases, the issue was about money and the working environment. Not BB the person but BB the manager/policy maker.

So in that context no, I don't care what Tom and Gronk think of BB. They've both publicly said very nice things about BB but have also publicly said he is a tough guy to play for.

As fan viewing the situation from afar, it seems both sides are OK with the separation.

Now watch the NFL take that 4th away for the filming incident.

Gronk was a dead asset, who'd put up declining numbers and has a price to his contract. He was also only going to play for one team. There was no leverage. They were lucky to get more than a 5th, and they probably would have been looking at a 6th without the Brady comfort factor for the Bucs.
A dead asset in what way? Clearly he was coveted in Tampa and Brady wanted him there.

Having only one team to deal with is all the leverage. You don't need to trade Gronk, at all. If Tampa wants Gronk, they should pay for Gronk. Not sure how you could say the team didn't have leverage.

Not sure which pick. Waiting on the details....

I don't get all this Howard love. He looks decent, but 3TDs per season and 450 yds i would rather have a 3rd.

I liked the trade. He wasn't coming back to play for us. I hope they find another gem and put the disnaty back on track.
Yep...we have a 17%-19% chance by league average to get someone who produces within a 3 year period of time Not a good get but probably realistic. Thuney's probably worth a fifth.

There's a quote out there that says something along the lines of "getting a player to play at the highest level isn't always a lot of fun" or something like that. That's what we have here. Gronk wants to have fun and be gronky (thanks Viv), Bill wants him to be the best.

If any of you have seen that quote or know who it is from, let me know.
I understand Vince Lombardi was no picnic to play for either

Revenge is the motive. Brady still ticked-off The Teacher picked JGQ as his new star Pupil, over him. Gronk, likewise, still smarting over being shopped to the Lions.
