But OK, I don't want to get into a racial thing. We differ on this topic. A few comments on a discussion board won't change things.

Just because you live in Jersey doesn’t mean you have any sort of idea of their culture LMFAO. Back in the day, I’d watch them come in and tell me that they couldn’t pay their utility bills and that’s why they tampered with our meters when I was in that field. Their Jordan’s were spotless though. Not a crease on them. Probably fresh out of the box. Their hair was well manicured, their nails were freshly painted (if they were women), and their kids were looking absolutely fresh. Their culture is geared toward style. Their purchasing power and where their dollars go will tell you that. There are videos online of kids in that community that don’t have the newest sneakers or brands getting roasted. They’re consumers. Like any other race, they have their preferences when consuming. White people love them some new furniture and electronics. Rednecks love guns. Asian Americans love electronics. Americans in general are heavy consumers. We’d rather take it out on credit and pay for it later whereas a country like Japan, for example, has a culture built around saving for something they want first and buying it later. That plays a big role in why we are in the shape we are in.

It’s also why putting $1,000 in the hand of every American, no questions asked, is a worthless idea.

What about the 100s of thousands or millions of waitresses, bartenders, food runners, bouncers, retail sales people, and all the other hourly workers that will have zero income or even a job when the close restaurants, bars, stores, etc. These are all people that want to work, work, but can't. You know they have no savings. How will they pay their rent? If they can't will they get evicted? Then what? Trump is trying to avoid a potential economic catastrophy beyond the stock market. This isn't welfare more so than a life preserver.

By the way, it will be more than $1,000. Between $1,000 and $4,500. I'm guessing $2,000-$2,500. That's about a months worth of gross pay if you make $12/hr.

Bingo. People need the money. I don’t care if a percentage of people spend it like idiots. There are millions who will need to pay their freaking rent as they lose their jobs and income. Feels like a no brainer.

I didn’t have to lay them off. I had to fire them. And I’m fine with a quick loan to people to pay their bills. But that wouldn’t happen. They’ll spend it, there will be a short stimulus that will positively affect the market, then what? We’re right back where we are. The same people are still going to be facing eviction because they wasted the money. Then you have to do it again. And again. And again. I’m not much for the slippery slope fallacy, but if you’re going to hand over taxpayer dollars under the guise of helping people pay their bills, then pay their bills for them. If they want to spend on consumer goods, they need to do it with their own disposable income. If they don’t have any, welp... that sucks. At least they’ll have room, board, lights, and food to sustain them until this passes.

My race is a prerequisite for determining if what I said is “racist.” By definition, there needs to be a belief in there that my race is superior. So it’s not surprising that you misused the term.
