The Tom Brady rumor thread

If Tom goes to Tampa I might need oxygen to recover from laughing.

Pats don’t like paying players?

Wilfork got a huge contract

Mankins IIRC got the highest contract for a guard when he was re-signed

Hernandez got a huge extension

Revis and AB got huge 1 year deals

McCourty just got a big dollar extension

Hightower and Gilmore got big contracts

Adalius Thomas and Rosie Colvin were big time free agent splashes signed to market level contracts

it’s just such a stupid and demonstrably false statement.

I am thankful that this is almost over, one way or the other.

If he chooses TB then good luck to him, what a way to close out the last 2 years of a magnificent playing career by going to a ****hole of a franchise.

Reiss on ESPN: Bucs have already made an aggressive pitch to Brady...he says he's starting to question whether Brady really wants to return to NE.

Do people think today is really the first day the Bucs have been in contact with Brady?

If so, would he make this gigantic decision today in just a few hours?

The only reason to think that is if he already decided that he's not coming back to the Patriots. Then it's a much easier decision to go the Bucs if they're the only team going after him!

Tampa is a solid team with a two time COY head coach. They are loaded on offense and have an underrated defense that had to deal with 40+ turnovers last year. Brady can have a lot of success there and by all accounts they seem to want to give him everything he wants similar to what Elway did for Manning.

Easy run north for me up to Tampa in the winter. I'd go.

It’s almost like people pay attention to one team

yeah I’m sure Brady’s amazing deep ball at his age will fit in well with Mike Evans and the HC’s offensive system that loved to push the ball downfield. Brady will fit in perfectly.

Here’s the question instead of people saying brady doesn’t want to come back. Have the pats even put out a deal or they don’t have the money.

I keep reading this non-sense. He was prepared last year to throw deep to both Gordon and Brown until both flamed out. I am sure Arians will adjust the offense as well to fit Tom's skillset and look to add pieces that take advantage of the mid-range game. I mean we have watched the GOAT for 20 years play in all styles of offense. He can do whatever is asked.

So basically the Patriots paid a crazy person and a murderer, but they won't pay Brady.

Hard to see why TB12 might be upset about things :D

Coach "You gotta risk it for the biscuit" and Brady just don't seem to mesh.

This does feel like Welker all over again. Welker kept looking back saying "I'll do it, I'll leave!" and the Patriots didn't reply so he left.

I'm hoping Tom gives the Pats until some time to figure something out. Wednesday at 10am, let's say. He's giving them until that time to either get the cap room to match the offer or find some offensive firepower to come back at a lower price.

Fairly or unfairly I think Welker's fate was determined when he dropped a likely Super Bowl winning pass. It did not surprise me one bit BB didn't pay him top WR dollar. I think he was right not to.

With all the moves over the last day or so I would guess we will know about Brady by the end of the day.

Chicago not in the chase:

Still haven't seen anything concrete about what Tampa and/or LAC is offering.

They resigned DMC and franchised Thuney totaling ~$39m

If BB's intention was to make Tom feel like he wasn't the #1 priority he did a pretty good job at it.
