Celtics 2019 / 2020

I'm surprised that anyone would question whether KG's number ought to be retired. There are so many numbers retired for players who did not have a fraction of the impact he did for us.

Examples? I think you're forgetting just how many championships this team has won.

Watched the Cs last night for the first time this season.

Tatum’s defense is just smothering. Fun game to watch.

Huge win last night. Gave us some separation from Miami and kept us on pace with Toronto for the #2 seed.

And we did it with Brown sitting out.

If we can just get Time Lord to pitch in and help Theis/Kanter out....we are gonna be a tough out in the playoffs.....the entire conference is tough as hell....

beat the 6ers without Kanter
beat the Heat without Tatum

the sh*tfests in the middle of january against the pistons, suns, wiz, spurs, pelicans are the difference between nipping at the raptors and nipping at the bucks

Was at the game last night ... an epic game for sure.
Not sure what Ainge really has his eye on ...
But we absolutely need a 3 pt forward off the bench.
Tatum can't do it every night - but he did last night.
Replacing Ojeyle or Poirier will be an upgrade without question.
I think Ainge is just waiting for Timelord to return so it could be Poirier out.

Also ... friggin Doc Rivers is a joke ... the entire game all he does is complain ... good grief.

All these nagging injuries may play to their advantage in terms of getting guys rest.

Yeah, I think that’s the idea… It looks like they do the cost-benefit analysis of sitting guys down throughout the season so they’re fresh for the playoffs. In a way it’s kind of weird, I feel like guys just used to play and didn’t need quite so much rest. But I do think that’s the plan.

To be fair, Doc had reason to complain about the foul on Lou Williams where they waved off the and-one. 9/10 they call that a shooting foul.

he was fouled before he began his shot.....it would have been a bad call if they gave the and 1 to him

Regardless that is usually called a shooting foul. I’m not saying it’s a good call, just what the refs usually do.

In other words, the right call was made but Rivers did not like it

Did you comprehend what I said? A call was made (likely the correct one) that is often ruled as a shooting foul instead. Based upon how the call is usually made by refs it is not outrageous for Doc to be annoyed, let alone called ‘a joke’.

I hope everybody is paying attention. The above is some serious expert in depth analysis that frankly. I have never read before from anybody in all my years of following sports. I stand before thee in stunned amazement. bravo sir bravo.

Gordon Hayward cant make a shot to save his life. it's hard to watch. he's lost all his confidence.

Dramatic. He has been very good recently but yes last night wasn’t great. Just an off shooting night or were the boo birds affecting him? Not concerned though he has been very important as a facilitator and playmaker.

Celtics look like an elite team and they are rolling. It is the Bucks, Celts and Raptors. Everyone else is irrelevant at this point.

he didn't shoot good in portland either

Sometimes good players have off shooting nights. Having two off shooting nights isn’t reason to hit the panic button when he was shooting well the previous like five games.

who is hitting the panic button? i think you are overly defensive for some reason. its a message board. people comment on whats going on with the team. I love Hayward. but he hasn't been shooting well for more than a couple of games. he's struggling. and good players have off shooting nights? WOW!!!! i had no idea.

Most of Hayward’s numbers - fg%, 3pt%, rebounds, assists - are better than his last season in Utah. The only ones worse are minutes (small margin) and free throw attempts/game (pretty big margin), and this is likely the damage from the injury.

There’s also the factor that Hayward was a very overrated signing. He is close to his pre-injury level but disappointing overall. He was never a borderline superstar like the press made him out to be. Solid starter...fringe all-star potential if he has the right pieces around him...won’t carry a team.
