If that is all it was, you might have a point. However, you know it wasn't. Stop trying to portray yourself as a victim and the Mods as heavy-handed.

See my targeted harassment reply, I think youd find it quite relevant.
I appreciate the feedback and I do want people to be able to express their opinions in this, so let's keep it focused on that, please. Without the criticism/complaints, we can't try and get better, so I'm certainly open to whatever people would like to say - so keep it coming

You may find this “childish” (baaaa....zing!) but I am not joking when I recommend getting an avatar (put some kind of image on your photo instead of the generic one.). That gives people at least some image they are relating to that they remember later on...just human nature.
Your advice wasn't directed to me, but I've taken it anyway.

Just curious about something. Ian says in this post that it is never personal. Yet in the original post a mod is calling me a troll. So is it personal or not?

I literally have never trolled. I have held opinions you haven't liked. That isn't trolling. I legitimately think N'Keal Harry is a bad football player. Just because you don't like that opinion doesn't make me a troll.

And you lose all credibility when you say it is never personal but that TheAdultintheRoom is a big fat troll, that's why we delete all his posts.

My name is obviously a joke, but I really have been the adult about certain things and still get the short end of the stick. There are a couple of posters here that constantly respond to my on topic posts with stupid "her der you're the PoopyfaceintheRoom" posts. It just happened in PatJew's post. These posts never get deleted and they always get likes. And I never respond. Yet I'm the troll.

So my guess is that at some point I disagreed with the wrong person on here, they complained to their mod friends, and now I'm targeted. I'm a horrible troll and need to be dealt with because I don't agree with the right people about the right issues.

I see a few issues with your whole schtick.

The thread that started this was from @Patjew and he made ZERO mention of you.
@Ian makes zero mention of you in his OP.

For you to claim that it's somehow personal for them with you doesn't make sense. In fact, it screams narcissism on your part.

EDIT: I posted this prior to seeing that he'd been kicked from the thread.

I don't know man, that 'whatever' part could become a slippery slope right quick.

Looking good, brutha! Now people will know that You. Are. Someone. To. Take. Seriously.

I know not this 'everyone' you speak of.
Personally I find the GDTs toxic in the extreme. Not like a Jete stank level of toxicity  but toxic nonetheless.

Virtually everyone who has complained is complaining about getting kicked out of GDTs. For an hour, they're not able to contribute valuable comments like:

"Get some pressure on him!!!"
"If we don't score here it's over."
"No...that was not on Tom."

And then maybe one out of 10 times you post, one person will find it useful. Because that post is now like 5 pages back from the point it was a few minutes ago.

Just not understanding why people are getting so bent out of shape for losing the ability to vomit into cyberspace. It's really likely that anything said in the GDT will later be regretted and looked upon in shame, so think of it as the mods cutting you off when you've reached your max drink limit, at a dive bar with a bunch of blacked out, crazed idiots. I'm sure I'll be shocked at how (a) stupid and (b) pointless and obvious, I am if I go back and read things that I post in a GDT. I would like it mods would just remove my ability to go on there...it's almost like watching trash reality TV. You just can't resist the temptation.

Ian, if you want to see who the problem children really are, look at the people who come down on the new guys the minute they say something critical of the team. There’s a group of them here. The minute a new account says something remotely critical (but reasonable), the new account gets labeled as a troll account and accusations of “r U a JeTs FaN” start coming up. And God knows I’ve been guilty of it here. Just a suggestion but if you don’t rein those people on a bit and the place gets to over-moderating, you’ll be looking at a polite echo chamber in here.

Disagree. If he feels he doesn’t want to post here that’s his choice and is not a reflection of a character flaw as you are implying.
Yep that is his choice just as it is my choice to bust his balls over it.

Not particularly. Targeted Harassment would be me seeking you out in other threads and just attacking you personally for no reason. I was pointing out that you were essentially lying about your role in the last GDT. You're the one who felt the need to attempt to play the victim when, in fact, you were the agitator.

Hard to bust someone’s balls when they aren’t here.

Send him some mini hot dogs so he gets your message.

I guess that would depend on how 'not here' gets defined. ;)
There have been instances in the past where some folks have been thought to have reinvented themselves while supposedly not being here whether that be from, let's say, maybe losing a password or perhaps been placed in a timeout, getting banned or something.

Not that I believe that would ever be the case with PJ. He's a mensch of the first order and would never engage in such low rent puerile behavior.

That was really the focus of this initial change to begin with, as we had that problem for a long time and it's something I've been trying to work on improving in here. There's a balance between new people coming in and obviously trying to fit in and those who might be a little disruptive, but I can name off quite a few current posters who started off pretty rough in here who turned out to be terrific contributors.

It's something that I do want to try and improve on. While we do have some long-time people who tend to come down on new members, they don't realize that some people just take a while to find a good lane to slip into and they could be alienating someone who could be a terrific part of our community because those new people don't always get that opportunity. I'm not saying that people can't challenge them, but I agree, finding a better way to do it instead of instantly alienating them isn't the way to go.

Bruh, I trolled no one, engaged with no one and simply offered my unsolicited view of what I saw.

I cant control if others are triggered by my wording.

Why dont you follow Ian's advice and allow me to air my grievances and keep your bold face lies and unhinged views to your self.

Good day sir!

The toxicity of the GDTs has been a problem and the butt of jokes for years.

Reading those, at times you'd think that some of the SB winning teams were worse than the 2017 Browns.

Serious question:

Why does everyone delight so much and feel like it’s such an important birthright to participate in the Gameday Threads?

IMO, it’s easily the worst thread on the forum every week. It isn’t insightful. It’s basically just a bunch of people typing one sentence like “Come on! Need a stop here!” or “Gillllly! Yess!” It’s not very informative, insightful, and it moves so fast that, IMO, very little is gained from participating in it. And of course there’s a lot of negative emotions because everyone is on edge, as the game can’t possibly live up to expectation as it’s taking place. I’ll go to them once in a while, but I know what they’re going to be, which are just not great by the nature of the thread itself.

The pre-game analysis, post-game reaction thread, and then breakdowns later in the week are fantastic. GDT? Not even sure why I go on there...it’s just added stress. Watching the game is stressful enough.

The GDT's used to be a great companion to the game. Kirsch Words used to be a good companion as well up until the last half of this season. The constant *****ing and moaning from both of them are just too much.

Unless the new person has this avatar. Then be VERY suspicious.

Why does everyone delight so much and feel like it’s such an important birthright to participate in the Gameday Threads?

When I was born my father took me to this tall rock and handed me to a religious leader who lifted me up and I saw all the gibbering lunatics and drunk cheering fans and I was told they were my subjects. So yes, GDT is my birthright, I am internet posting royalty you piece of ****.

But also I really like the GDT because it feels like I am watching the game with someone and after my divorce I've found watching the games to be a really lonely experience, participating in the GDT helps me not feel so isolated.

you're divorced?? and you looked so happy and attached to each other..at the wrists and ankles...

And mine to be mature about it.

I don't think you are in any position to assess who is/isn't being mature.

R6/AJ will always bait everyone and have to get the last word in. He just must. And then after forcing things to get ugly, he’s the one crying to the mods. RW won’t continue with this childish back and forth but many others aren’t aware that there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and others are more combative by nature (no offense RW, but The Dude is pretty laid back, zen.)

You, Andy, calling out RW, who is universally considered to be an outstanding poster who doesn’t cause drama, is about as thick as irony gets.

Go ahead and report this as a “personal attack.” What you consider that to be has always been a total sham. You deserve to get criticized for your approach, just like right you’re doing now.
