I really want them to draft guys since we can't rely on any of the 3 you mentioned.

--Andrews' blood clot problem may be gone, but it ay come back.
--Cajuste's quad injury is of the kind that can pop up again and again. Once that sucker rips off the bone, it's never the same again.
--Reports from camp were that Froholdt was getting beat by everyone. There are doubts.

Luckily, we should know about Thuney and Karras long before the draft, but regardless, the Patriots are going to need a lot of backups on the OL whatever happens.

looks like Andrews is planning on returning in 2020.

based on him being able to do that, we draft van lanen in the fourth round and move him to left guard to replace thuney.

karras leaves to get a starting job in Miami. we should resign ferentz.

we draft a replacement center on day 3.

that leaves us with Wynn at left tackle. Van lanen at left guard. Andrews at center. Mason at right guard. And canon at right tackle.
Plus we have cajuste, frodholtz, ferentz and a draft pick center as backups.

we sign aj green and pharaoh Cooper as free agent receivers. We draft Edwards in the third round and joe reed of Virginia in the sixth round.

we draft two tight ends, Parkinson is Stanford and either Albert o of mizzu or Pinckney of Vanderbilt, in the third round.

Could Cannon be cut? Think it'll save like 5.8 mill and 6 year after.

I could see that happening

He had a bad season. I watched him get beat multiple times in multiple games.

Heard Eagles may shop Jeffrey he and Gilmore are tight and he is the kind of trade BB would make.

I know that Karras started out badly and he never really snapped the ball perfectly

But I feel like he improved enough during the season that he would be decent Thuney*'s replacement. Plus, he won't need to snap balls no mo

*I don't see BB tying an extreme % of cap to Guards only... Unless maybe is Brady's last urrah, but then how we afford the team?

If the Pats bring Dorsett back then they are not serious about improving the WRs.

Dorsett has been regressing since the 2018 AFCC game vs KC.

2018 Post Season
2018 Vs KC his catch rate in that game was 33%.
2018 Vs LA he was shut out in the Super Bowl 0%

The 2019 regular season saw Dorsetts catch rate drop over 20%. It was time to step up after 3 years as a Patriot when you were needed the most.

2018 Regular Season 76% catch rate

2019 Regular Season 54% catch rate

54 Attempts
29 Completions
397 yards
5 TDs

2019 Post Season Vs Tenn his catch rate was 25%

Career as a NEP
114 Attempts
73 Completions
881 Yards
8 TDs
64% catch rate

This cant go on. The Pats need WRs who can put those kinds of numbers up in 1 season in todays NFL. Too many good WRs is a great problem to have. Id rather have guys chomping at the bit for a chance to showcase their talents then the way its been with JAGs.

2019 Draft

#36 Deebo Samuel - 802 yards - 3 TDs
#51 AJ Brown - 1051 yards - 8 TDs
#56 Mecole Hardman - 538 yards - 6 TDs

Still playing. Good and possibly great WRs are there when the Pats pick. so there is no excuse.

I wonder if the Pats "System" with Brady at the helm would greatly reduce those numbers, though. Brady likes to spread the ball around, the receivers have to run precise routes, there isn't a lot of improvisation, the backs get a lot of receptions and making mistakes isn't an option.

All three of those receivers looked damn good though.

No. He still has a 5m dollar dead cap hit, so the savings would be a bit under the 4m mark.

Are you suggesting that Newhouse be re-signed to play RT?
Hah no. Maybe they sign somebody or one of their young guys will be ready? Cannon is not super reliable. He’s good some years and injured/bad other years.

How about the guy who claimed that none of the TEs drafted had produced for any team this year? I quit looking after Fant, Smith, and Knox.

Unfortunately, sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss, but they’ve been bad at picking WRs for a long time.

They may just need to accept it and trade for some established vets.

One of the pats writer suggested Odell would cost a first, I kinda doubt that after last season and that he caused trouble again.

The issue with taking established vets is that they’re expensive, vs the cheap, rookie contract. Beckham’s cap hit has to be somewhere around 20m dollars. I’d be good with just having four quality receivers in the 5m dollar range.

Actually, if OTC has it right (and I expect that it's right), Beckham's on a pretty sweet deal at this point, given Beckham's talent level. The Giants ate the signing bonus, so it's just the salary and a workout bonus.

Don’t forget also dk metcalf 900 yd 7td and terry mclaurin 919 7 Td daryius slayton 740 8 td. All taken after Harry. We have the worst WR Scouting and drafting in the league and I’m sick of it!
