It's not clear, but it's a lot of circumstantial evidence that the McNally was doing something with the balls...not that I believe that Brady knew what they were doing. One ref even reported McNally to the league for suspicious behavior...

It’s clear as day to me from the texts they were doing something to the footballs. It’s not certain Brady knew but it’s possible.

I think the team didn’t respond very well to this either and this hurt us in public perception. The explanation about the Deflator was laughable. They should have just let that one go.

If Peyton were the QB accused of deflating footballs instead, we'd be laughing at the texts and any explanation of "deflator" meaning weight loss

This is what is ridiculous. The guy responsible for handling the balls and getting them where they belonged wanted to get them early. That isn’t even close to evidence of any wrong doing.
There surely is not a lot of circumstantial evidence that has any value. You could conceivably investigate the actions of any employee on any team and find things that you could twist the meaning of to just as strongly support any presupposed crime.

Patriot fans arguing that the biggest frame job in nfl history was legitimate. Unbelievable how stupid people can be.

The low tire pressure light went on in my car this week. Maybe Roger can explain why that happened.

I don’t believe Brady knew. I also *know* nothing got deflated in the AFCCG.

But I also believe McNally was deflating them certainly to 13.5 (the max legal limit) and maybe all the way down to 12.5 whenever refs pumped them up past that.

He’d even have a decent justification to deflate to 13.5 — since 13.5 is the max legal limit, if refs went and made the balls illegally high what’s the crime in making them legal again.

The PSI data proved that nothing happened in the game in question. If they had just replaced the 1st half balls with backups they would have realized nothing was wrong when they went back up to 12.5 after sitting in the locker room until the game ended. Deflategate did prove the lack of basic science knowledge in the NFL offices and across the country.

I agree with this take, it makes the most sense. I don't believe the balls were below limit entering the game because as you have said in a previous post, the science would of shown that. I find it very believable that these texts msgs are simply jokes about them practicing deflating footballs to 12.5psi but not below. It probably takes practice to do it fast and they probably actually practiced it. I 100% believe the league would inflate the balls to whatever they wanted after they inspected them pre game and this is what might of set this all off.

yeah....oh right...drag the LIE out again and swirl up more of this IDIOTIC,RIDICULOUS GARBAGE.

Only one REAL FACT was established ,after 20 million dollars in legal fees paid by the NFL..and THAT fact is Article 46...Goodell has sweeping power to decide whatever he wants to decide on whatever issue he deems or creates.

Now this bleating about "circumstantial evidence" and "peculiar behaviour" is PURE IDIOCY! You actually want to sit here and puke this drivel out like it's some sort of "possible fact!" when you IGNORE the 10 billion pound elephant in the room? Kensil ran on the field after the AFCCG screaming "Gotcha!!!" like a bull with an ice pick stuck in its' skull...then,DISAPPEARED! FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS!! GONE!!

He made a huge mistake that day and he did it out of pure HATRED for the NEP and Belichick in particular. Mike Kensil was the PRESIDENT of the NY Jets. You got that?? He quits as PRESIDENT of an NFL franchise and takes a lowla crackadola job in NFL offices just for shyts and giggles??} Meanwhile you sit here puking out what ifs and fabrications created by proven liars, you ignore the complete idiocy of Mort's "report" and the reporting as fact that "all 12 balls were way under the 12.5!!!" when this was PROVEN to be TOTAL HORSESHYT!!!! Don't you get it?? HE LIED. Then, HE tried the disappearing act with his "dying of cancer!" excuse. Right in your face ridiculousness and you STILL persist in the "ballboys knew something!!" moronicism ?

Occam's razor...BB humiliated Harbawl..Harbawl retaliated by using the idiot front office of the Colts to bring up the deflation lie to a waiting Kensil at which point the entire LIE was set in motion and the "Patriots cheaters!" meme was used to OVERTLY LIE, to FABRICATE evidence(Brady's phone!!!, and spin the entire sordid mess to the advantage of NFL Offices and the owners. Why the hell do you think Kraft took a powder on Brady and left him hanging? No. No more "what ifs" and "this looks suspicious" crap. Kensil is back in the US and seemingly undercover. Not one media member has made any effort to get an interview...gee golly whiz..."suspicious" ain't it?

If you are a Patriot fan you have to understand YOU were used...You were duped...YOU were played for a sucker. THIS is the GENESIS of the Dehategate Saga...EOS.

Former New York Jets director of operations Mike Kensil is the “driving force” behind the NFL investigation of the New England Patriots regarding underinflated footballs during the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, reports CSNNE.com’s Tom Curran.

Kensil worked for the organization for more than 20 years, left the Jets in 2006 and is now the league’s NFL Vice President of Game Operations. Kensi's reported interest in the Patriots began well before the AFC Championship.

According to the report, the connection between the investigation and the Jets “hints certainly at a preexisting judgment” of the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick, who denied knowing anything about the deflated footballs during a news conference last week."

Well if they did, it wasn’t that game.

“Can’t wait to give you your needle this week :)
“Eff Tom. Make sure the pump is attached to the needle. Effing watermelons coming”
“So angry.”
“The only thing deflating Sun is his passer rating”

Every time the tires on my car, bike, or even a basketball deflates.....I think of deflategate and it just makes my blood boil.

The biggest steaming pile of bull$hit in professional sports history BAR NONE!

Agreed. The one certain thing in all of this is that no deflation happened at the AFCCG.

(That’s the bitter irony — while I think there were ball boy shenanigans going on that season — namely deflating balls back to a legal value when refs made them illegal — nothing happened in the game that they were accused of doing stuff in.)

I dont think you understand what some of us our saying. No one here is saying Brady was involved. What we are arguing is that the ball boys likely deflated the balls in at least few games so Tom won't yell at them the following day.

For the last 4 years, every time it's happened in our cars, my kids preempt with rolling eyes, because they know, word for word, the Deflategate/Science rant that is about to erupt from dad...........

I still won’t be remotely surprised if one day we find out that the two ball guys dreamed up some scheme where they’d hand the balls in at 12.5 (or whatever the lowest legal value was) and then after the refs had their way with them would check them and then if the refs had inflated them above the submitted 12.5 the ball guys would deflate them back to 12.5.

I agree that no deflation whatsoever happened at the AFCCG — the science makes that 100% clear. But I think that’s because the refs left the balls at 12.5 so there was nothing for the ball guys to do.

I know this whole thing is an unpopular view, but it’s how I reconcile the ball dudes’ texts, which I find sketchy as hell, with the fact that the balls were unquestionably not deflated in the AFCCG.

If anything happened that would be it. Not trying to gain a competitive advantage rather ensuring the balls were within the legal limit.

I too think they were deflating footballs except for the AFCCG and I also think it was because of the high PSI inflation from the Jets game. The texts make that clear.

I also think teams around the league knew it and as long as it was to the legal minimum of 12.5 they couldn’t care less.

I just wish Tom didn’t say “read the rule book”. Yes Harbaugh is a whiner and deserved to be mocked for his whining but it was just a pointless taunt...and when your team is known to be deflating footballs it’s going to come back to bite you if you trigger them. Which it did. No question the Ravens alerted the Colts to try and “catch” them as an FU right back to Tom’s comment.

Why do Patriots fans buy this bunk?

The facts aren't on your side.

The freakin' Ravens game had 15 degree temperatures. The kicking balls are going to shrink like granpa's testes in that weather!
