OL has gotta make a dramatic improvement soon, what team in recent history has won a Super Bowl with a poor OL? It really doesn’t happen.

Nope, oline has to show up and play well every game and especially for the good defenses or things can get bad in a hurry. Normally why you see blowouts or upsets specials because they just didnt show up.

Brady would have 600 TD’s if he kept throwing late in games and goal line TD’s like those two stat padders
A higher percentage of Brady’s TDs are 1 yarders than are Manning’s or Brees’s. The same is true for 5 yards or less.

They should have sat Jules today.

sounds good

However, Brady has had plenty of time in the last two weeks.

The O line has been a problem due to injuries and poor play from Mason and Cannon. What you see is what you get there and TB needs to adjust his game to having less pocket time and the holes may not be there for running backs against playoff caliber teams. Why BB didn't address the two big needs on offense this year (a speedy WR and a decent TE) is a mystery and McDaniels' unit is suffering because of it. Also, no blocking FB due to injuries. Couldn't Dwayne Allen or Matt Lengel fill in at TE, likewise Lagarrette Blount or Jeremy Hill at FB (all conversant with the Pats system). Right now, they would be better than what we have now, which is nothing.

just to run routes and take coverage away

It was hard to watch him out there today, you can tell he's getting by on pure guts and will. Not sure what a week off would have done for him, but we need him in a few weeks not against the Bengsls

To win the division, BTW, the Bills must finish with a better record. If they tie, the Pats are guaranteed to win on head-to-head or common opponents.
If Pitt wins tonight, and Buff wins last 2 and NE loses last 2. Buff and NE finish 11-5 and Buff wins division due to better division record.

Exactly. What was the point of him playing?

What’s concerning is how obvious a call this was. So many of us said this BEFORE the game. This is not just hindsight. There was no reason to put him out there today. Some very bad management.

Wrong. If they are tied, New England has the tiebreaker with better record against common opponents. Hannable and Reiss have already reported this today.

The weird thing is you wrote that post with such a certitude.

Let me break this down..

If Buffalo lost tonight they would have been 9-5. Pats 11-3. Buffalo 1 division loss. Pats 0 division losses.

If Buffalo won out under that scenario they would be 11-5 with 1 division loss.

If Pats lost out they would be 11-5 IDENTICAL RECORD as Buffalo. Split head to head. BUT 2 division losses.

So Buffalo would have been divison champs with identical record.

That is moot because Buffalo won, but there you have it.

The butthurtness of the home teamers is on full display with all the dislikes about my “Brady padding stats in 2007” truth.
Take the blinders off every once and awhile

Let’s review
Pats won 10 games by 20+ points in 2007 including 46, 45, 31 point wins

Cassel threw 7 passes all season

Pats had 3 times as many passing TDs as rushing 50 vs 17)

16-0
#1 seed with weeks to spare
And Brady is chasing records that are meaningless to the team’s ultimate goal.

This is the purest definition of stat padding you will ever encounter

Selective obliviousness is no way to go through life

When Manning or Brees rifle TDs into endzones while up by 30+ this board becomes triggered to no end. I’ve read such posts by the Brady defenders who delegitimize any great QB play at every opportunity.
When the sacred cow fires a late TD while up 35, crickets.
Fan boy consistency on full display

Manning and Brees have passed for essentially one more TD per season than sacred cow Brady resulting in the preposterous claim, “these QB’s are serial stat padders”
Imagine if they averaged two more.
You might come out of momma’s basement and riot.

Now back to your chores......clean up that Brady FatHead over your bunk bed. Are those smudges or what?
I don’t care if you or anyone else claims Brady padded his stats that year. It’s not what happened. 2007 was the FU tour by the Pats as a response to spy gate.

It's all bad all the time. I call it the GDT Protocol.

I don’t think Manning is really a stat padder. He was just annoying how he’d play week 17 to set some record and then stop playing after putting the ball in a box and sending it to Canton. He’d end season with exact round numbers on purpose. Always thought it was super lame at just how zeroed in he was on his stats and how the media scarfed it all down.

I feel different about Brees. We saw Brady rack up two garbage TDs in a losing effort against Houston and it felt dirty. It’s so rare to see him actually okay against a an off zone prevent like that for garbage time TDs. There were long periods of time (I mean entire seasons) where that consisted of a huge bulk of Brees’s stats. That and some shootouts where basically you were just watching track meets...very rare to see him play with a big lead from roughly 2010-17, whereas Brady would typically put the game away early and slam the door. Sure, the Pats defense and Saints defense is a big factor, but we’re talking about who is way more impressive, Brady, since almost all his TDs are during competitive play (for 2.5 quarters) and not trash prevent time. Brees also has a lot more INTs. But most of all Brees annoys me because he gets zero criticism for postseason failures. No one even considers blaming him...contrast to someone like Rodgers.

I didn’t even get into the dome/warm weather aspect.

Meanwhile Brady is on the cusp of 250 career wins! A record that will never be approached...25% more than the second place guy (Manning at 200.). This should be the most important career milestone and never gets more than a blurb.

And the media will be talking about how Brees now has roughly 0.001% more TDs than Manning/Brady and asking if he should be in the GOAT conversation.
