Unreal. As Mark mentions, the Patriots two prior punishments are outliers, and massively so - off the chart outliers.

Total bullsh*t if football ops is punished for an innocent mistake by non-football ops. Not only would basically any penalty (other than a trivial fine) be disproportionate to the offense, but it makes zero sense to punish football ops for a non-football ops mistake. It'd be like punishing a company's legal team for a tax mistake made by their accounting team.

If the team loses (a) pick(s) I wouldn't be shocked if Belichick walks, either to another team or from the league, and understandably so. A corrupt, inconsistent, and biased league making his life miserable by stripping draft picks for something Belichick (and football ops as a whole) had zero to do with.

Because he’s being restricted in his ability to do his job by a corrupted league with an anti-Patriots interest, as a result of the actions of those not in football ops.

That has to be beyond frustrating. Can see him wanting to wash his hands of the situation.

If I learned anything about BB in the last almost 20 years it is that I dont think he gets frustrated much by things that are out of his control.

Sometimes you see cracks and the proto emotions come out -- he is human afterall -- but with stuff like that I doubt it affects him much.

I sincerely doubt he ever sits around and laments stolen picks, injuries to key players, draft busts and whatnot.

Eh, I’m not sure that is going to put the team in a positive light. It could make things even worse. If the guy made a mistake and was filming the sidelines like it’s being reported, it could be hard to find any good in what’s on the tape. Just my opinion.

I’m waiting for someone in the national media to start asking why the NFL would release false PSI data about the Patriots and Colts footballs to make New England look guilty. A sports league falsely incriminating one of it’s teams, especially one preparing for a championship game, is a significant story that everyone ignored.
