This team needs to find their identity. Last year it was Michel and the running game, 2014 it was Brady silencing all the doubters. 2016 it was Brady getting revenge for deflategate. What is it going to be this year? I think the most likely answer is knowing that the offense just isnt very good and we will have to lean on the defense to give this offense short fields. It means not getting owned by Lamar Jackson or Watson.

He got his 3 garbage TDs, so at least there could be some poetic justice to beating Brees to the record by doing what we always shake our heads about Brees doing, racking up those stats when the defense doesn’t care.

Do it for AB.

BTW, can we please find a way to agree not to ***** about binary calls made during games, unless we called for it, and explained why, before the play?

If I hear/read one more person griping about that 4th down throw to Sanu, when the play worked and the ball was right there to be caught, I may have to start praying for a S.M.O.D., or something.
I had already forgot about that damn, lower-percentage-than-running-the-ball-on-4th-and-inches play.

But fine, if we can't criticize that play then we should also stop criticizing the decision not to hand the ball to Lynch.

Just to be clear that I’m not “jealous” or whatever or Lamar Jackson.

Deshaun Watson is an outstanding young quarterback. The guy makes great reads and is incredibly accurate. He uses his legs to scramble but doesn’t rely on his running threat to succeed. I don’t think there’s much comparison - long-term, Jackson will be exposed as a short-lived running back who can also throw them ball. Watson is going to be a great QB.

its sickening that defenses can double edelman and no one else can consistently get open.

That’s what happens when you foolishly cut your other two receivers that are capable of winning one on one.

Yeah I just don't understand why Gordon was let go. I really don't. Just a bizarre decision.

I still think that they'd get better results if they'd stop keeping Dorsett still, and used him in motion so as to keep the defender from being able to press him off the line.

Can't trust Dorsett

One play is not what I'm talking about. For all that McDaniels is excellent at, he's got a couple of areas that I think this team comes up short on, and I think this is one of them. It's almost certainly deliberate, and I'm not claiming that my position is something that would hold up to their replies, but I've never heard an explanation that I found persuasive.

Until you realize the offense is a dumpster fire that cannot get out their own way. Not seeing how this team can beat a legit playoff team with this joke of an offensive.

Not to sound like a broken record but what were you saying after we were 9-5 last year?

Can’t wait to see more film of this game and see how much these wideouts struggled to get separation. Yes brady could have made better throws but i still feel it’s these wideouts .

Title defenses are tough.

If you told me before the season the Pats would be tied for the best record in football at 10-2 with 3 of the next four at home, I'd be looking to high five you all. Sure, they look to be trending in the wrong direction, but after last December I'm not calling anything.

Regards,
Chris
