Is Newhouse really that bad?

Yes, but @PatsFan2 is arguing we should have gotten Williams before Wynn's turf toe injury. And trading for him at the beginning of the year would have wrecked our cap.
If he’s injured again this year, I’d bet BB gets someone to replace Wynn next year

this may be his last chance

Yes he's not great but everyone not named Thuney is severely underachieving right now. Also, Philly has one of the better (best?) DLs in the league.

This is why no-huddle/shotgun offense has become the only way the Patriots can move the ball. Long developing plays and run fakes and even screens are getting blown up. Get Brady's eyes on the field ASAP (Karras's low snaps aren't helping) and let him get rid of the ball in 1.6 seconds.

I agree twice bitten thrice shy.

He’s terrible. That they’re trying to scheme around and away from him should give that away even if you ignore the fact that his man is often dry humping Brady and the RBs in the backfield. But he’s about what you should expect when you scrape through the scrap heap after your starter goes down in Week 1.

On top of that, people don't get that the rest of the Oline suffers mightily when you can ruin your guy with a mediocre pass rusher and then overwhelm the other side of the line.

I would say no. Bad tight ends. No fullback. Poor play calling. All contribute equally to the offenses issues.

I guess we will see this Sunday afternoon if Wynn makes a difference.

Marshall, is that you?

Yes. He's not even serviceable. Absolutely horrid. The fact this team beat Philly & Cleveland with him at left tackle is a miracle. There's no point of keeping him on the roster once Wynn returns (If he does).

He's atrocious. Those trying to defend him should take the time to actually watch him play. Don't focus on anything but Newhouse and the way the schemes are designed to minimize him as a weakness.

Agreed. Two years. 1 full game played. That's just not going to cut it. You can't make the club from the tub. This team needs reliable players.

Good one.

Michel also really needs to work on switching the ball when he gets to the second level so he can stiff arm guys for more yards. It’s making him an easy tackle for defenders. His style is reminding me of Ben Jarvis-Green Ellis - nothing spectacular.

Bingo. They also needed players to help him block yesterday. Meaning they couldn't be a factor on offense in any other way. The fact he wasn't straight out benched is worrysome. Are the guys behind him that bad? He's just horrible.

Which is why I don't understand drafting him in the 1st round. There's plenty of RB's who could do what he does. Unless there's a generational back like Barkley in the first round, I'm not wasting a first rounder on one.

Even for a backup, yeah, he sucks.

It's rare for an offensive lineman to suck so badly that his incompetence jumps off the screen on at least half of plays, but he does. Don't take my word for it though, just prepare to be super surprised when the offense looks much better next week despite 10 of the 11 guys on the field being the same.

Bumping this up as the Patriots look ahead to getting Isaiah Wynn back for the Cowboys next weekend. Just watching the TV broadcast this morning and thought it was interesting to hear Tony Romo go on about how much better they'll be as an offense with Wynn in there. twitter.com/PhilAPerry/sta…

Cannon & Mason aren't playing great. But Newhouse is on another level of bad.

His college highlights showed him as a completely different RB.

what he has flashed in his short time will have him here for 4 years

"They don't have any speed, there's no threats," Ryan said. "Their two best receivers are both slot receivers. In other words, they need to be off the ball to be effective, and that's Edelman and (Mohamed) Sanu. Where's the other guys? Where's the speed? “That left tackle, is that me blocking? They gotta get Isaiah Wynn back in a hurry. If they don’t, they’re in trouble, and (Tom Brady) knows it. Why’d they bring in Antonio Brown with a laundry list of things? Why? Because they needed a weapon. Why did they draft a guy in the first round? This team is short of talent, and he knows it. Normally, he’s the guy that carries this team, but right now, they’re being carried by that defense.”

BUT IT'S JUST A COUPLE OF POSTERS ON THIS SITE WHO REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH NEWHOUSE!
