How many years have you bee watching Brady? That's not how he plays - at all. You know who was open here all the time? Ochocinco. I was at the games - he was breaking free and Brady would not look at him.

I don't know why they play like that - sometimes it makes me crazy, too, but if I were a WR coming out of college, the LAST place I'd want to play is in New England with Brady. Well, maybe not the last, but certainly last among teams with decent QBs.

If Harry were with another team, he'd probably be lighting it up. Damien Harris, too.

Ochcos legs were gone at 33 years old. He was not getting separation. Watch the films. And you’re right, he couldn’t pick up the playbook

As for Metcalf, he has 5 TDS and 500 Yards in 9 games...he looks incredible on film. Could he get open in our offense?

Maybe maybe not...

But I’d bet on him over Harry who can’t see the field, whose a healthy scratch, whose proven nothing so far

Guess what? We could have had both! We traded up in second round to draft some slow corner names Jojuan who can’t crack our roster.

I'm starting to think the impact of LT alone on this offence cannot be understated.

They don’t need a great LT. Newhouse is just so, so bad.

people saying we should have drafted LJ

1 - you would've still been mad at the time it had happened
2 - you would not being saying that tonight in said universe, as he would still be on the bench.
3 - he would be on the bench because he would look bad in our offense, that's being ran because brady is the starter
4 - he would get f*cked by our offensive line lol. which sucks to say lol.
There are some that wanted him long before the draft (me). QB is the most important position by far. Its worth the gamble. Compared to say, RB lol, it's a 100% more important. Last year is the perfect example of "you dont need a great RB if you have a great OL".

Anyway we could have showcased Lamar & got picks. Sit, teach & groom.

And lastly, Lamar ran variations of the ****in EP in college. Saying he couldn't run our offense might be the dumbest **** you could say.

And hes running another offense now. So the thought or idea that's he some dumb, running QB is as false as it comes. He's 22 years old & seemingly leading his team to the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row. In year 2, much more important than 1.

It's worth noting that Baltimore had two weeks to prepare for the Patriots.
And how much it meant to this Raven team.
Playoff intensity, for them. Must win.

Game changing Pats D line motion penalties
Nerves?

The schedule doesn’t get any easier that’s for sure. Eagles will have a BYE as well. Have to win against these good teams.

Offense is definitely a problem. OL has gotta be better.

I believe Michel was benched tonight, or reduced snap count. He can’t catch passes, he ran the wrong route and Brady gave him a nasty look
He did seem to have a limited role. And yes Brady was not pleased with him.

lmao, that'd be quite the defensive play call right there

"we drafted him so he couldn't play us. in the mean time, we've been demoralizing him every chance we can. either he retires now or leaves his rookie contract doubting his every move for the rest of his career."

The plan would be for him to take over once Brady retired

Pretty much everything the Pats had going wrong this season came to a head this game.

Bah. Lots of film to review should they meet up again.

Regards,
Chris

Did he complete a single pass more than 5 yards behind the los? I think I remember one.
We played a wild cat offense tonight.

He had few passes well beyond the LOS yet it was too often pitch and catch. Why would LJ throw beyond if that was moving the chains consistently?
Patriots' bread and butter on D has been sufficiently stop the run then nearly every pass, especially on 3rd down, is heavily contested. That had been making it very difficult for any offense to sustain a drive that gains enough yards to score. Tonight, for reasons we will see, everything of the 4 to 5 yards down the field pass variety was mostly laughably easy pitch and catch for LJ. We're talking some, at best, ham and egg receivers still far too open for easily sufficient first down yardage. It's what BP once called "non competitive pass coverage".
I realize that a QB like LJ probably meant lots of zone and the first quarter probably had the front 7 freaked out about a run threat. But if the Patriots can't sometimes competitively cover third and 4 or 5 yardage against a QB that is a threat to run and questionable in his ability to pass, the other team will again enjoy offensive success.
Turn the page, see this as finding out where the Patriots are weak, find a way to remedy it.

yes, we could have drafted Lamar...and yes we DID draft JimmyG...water under the bridge. General Patton would say "keep moving forward!"...no sense going over old ground.

People already forget Sony had a huge role in a Lombardi lol?

Offensive line. That is the issue. Brady and the skill players can make it work if the boys up front can do their jobs. But Newhouse is such a gigantic liability and with him protecting the blindside I'm not sure this offense will ever find its rhythm.

OL was a key player in the SB run last year, but I agree overall vs Chubb, in 2019 he’s been useless, he’s been the invisible man.
Fixed it for you.

Are you still on this **** AJ?
Sounds like I hit a nerve.
1) did he complete more than a pass more than 5 yards downfield
2) you are taking to ring 6 but I guess you want to call me someone else to dismiss the point??

TE is bigger.

Look at our history. Let Nate, Brown walk bc we have the best QB ever at manipulating & maneuvering the pocket. We dont need great but will get it, IF Wynn stays healthy.

I think the only pass completed more than 5 yards beyond the lid was the 18 yard pass to Andrews.
