Edit: Bad news. PFF rates OJ Howard as one of worst blocking tight ends in the NFL. Umm, maybe we're not getting him after all. Depends on BB's opinion of Howard.

Dated January 2018. It's October 2019.

Not sure I understand the relevancy of how pff rated him in 2017 (2 years ago) his rookie season.

I mean because just last year there was this

So according to pff last year Howard was the 2nd best TE in the nfl.

The problem with Howard is that he had a coaching change. Arians, unlike BB, is very set in his ways. He doesn't adapt well to the players he has.. Howard is being under-utilized as is Brate, honestly.. With Brate and Howard, they had a very similar version of what the Pats had with Gronk and that other guy.. But they haven't utilized them that way under Arians..
Sickening

That’s very different from saying that they won’t be able to make a deal at all.

I like Howard and all but 2nd best TE in all of football in 2017 or even in the ballpark last year? I don't see it.

He was not better than Kelce, Ertz, Kittle or even Gronk. You could argue a few more were ahead of him

From what I'm reading, OJ Howard was a top ten HS recruit, had a good (but not great) career at Alabama, had excellent measurables as a recruit, and has had a disappointing NFL career thus far. Playing for his current team has something to do with that career.

There are varying opinions about what to value the most when deciding how much draft capital and cap space to use on this guy.

Feels like a mid season overreach to me to go more than a 3rd.
He plays on the Bucs, I mean... of course his NFL career has been bad so far.

Not trading for OJ Howard (for example) wouldn't be because of cap space. He would only be $780k the rest of the season and with the "top 51" rule would only lower the cap space about $300k.

Rephase...Trading one of Gilly, 2 McCourtys, JC, Wang Chung, JJ and Harmon would be pure stupidity on a grand scale.

not that im advocating but you can simply rephrase it as business as usual

Would you trade Sony for OJ?

Jeff goes on in his next tweet to say they’ve traditionally done very well against the Ravens. Lol.

I feel like he's coming here.
I feel like its already done. There's no way we lose Gronk and then have the chance to get this kid for less than 1M for a cap hit and he be signed next year as well.

Get this man. This is it right here. Kid's open alot, Jameis is just so bad. Trust me, living in Tampa, I see it all the time.

the suspense is killing me. Make the deal for Howard already!

I've been wanting the Patriots to go nuts giving Brady weapons for One Last Push since like 2013 so my ideas really shouldn't be trusted. :D

That said please trade for everybody and go nuts.

Agree completely. He hasn’t produced in the NFL, whether that’s scheme or something else, the fact is he hasn’t put up numbers. People saying a first for him? What? I’d rather re create the OBJ package and call Dorsey up if we’re including a 1st rounder in trade talks

That’s an interesting note from Belichick. The old team can pay a bonus in order to make the player cheaper for the new team, but it has to happen a day in advance. So it looks like Leonard Williams will be the only example of that at this year’s deadline, with the Jets paying $4 million before trading him to the Giants.
