Eagles want a dB. Pats need a TE. Pats have dbs. Eagles have TEs (Ertz). Hmmmmmmm

Get the Eagles trade Alshon for Newhouse. Straight up

Not trading any of our DBs for anyone!

Id guess BB will listen. There's plenty of depth and value @DB and Pats could use both cap space and picks. They have one of the top DB factories so it makes sense to profit. I wouldn't be surprised if they trade a starting vet. Brooks and JoJu showed they can step in if necessary.

don't mess with the strength of our football team.

No way in hell we break up this secondary.

Break up is a strong word. You have 6 DBs playing regularly plus Brooks seeing significant action after Chung was banged up wo drop off plus JoJu looking decent.. most importantly you have coaches who know what they are doing..

I don’t think he will even listen. This defense has a chance to be historic and there is no way he will mess with that.

I wouldn’t mind adding someone on the d-line to shore up the running game.

Brady for Rivers? I’d prefer to get this fabricated distraction out of the way so the team can focus.

Hate to trade depth in two areas: OL and secondary. Injuries in those areas kill you.

I would expect the pats to check in on some targets. There's always one unexpected player moved if anything happens. Bengals are too stubborn to make a trade.

I'll guess Keenan Allen or Melvin Gordon might get moved. I could legitimately see the Chargers do something today.

As for the Pats? Probably nothing of consequence. They'll try to pry away OJ Howard and probably call the Eagles on Ertz since he's apparently falling behind Goedert. I'm not sure how thats going to play out. I think they already made their "big" move with Sanu.

From what I'm reading, OJ Howard was a top ten HS recruit, had a good (but not great) career at Alabama, had excellent measurables as a recruit, and has had a disappointing NFL career thus far. Playing for his current team has something to do with that career.

There are varying opinions about what to value the most when deciding how much draft capital and cap space to use on this guy.

Feels like a mid season overreach to me to go more than a 3rd.

Well if he is the difference of beating say the Packers the Niners or the Saints.
He's worth a first and maybe more.
But this is still a big IF

The Pats as currently constructed can beat the Niners and probably beat the Saints. NO defense is overrated. But against Green Bay would be tough. You have to always assume the officials are going to have a role in the game to benefit Rodgers. I get it, we're Pats fans and officiating should be the last thing mentioned but no one gets more beneficial calls than Aaron Rodgers.

The problem with Howard is that he had a coaching change. Arians, unlike BB, is very set in his ways. He doesn't adapt well to the players he has.. Howard is being under-utilized as is Brate, honestly.. With Brate and Howard, they had a very similar version of what the Pats had with Gronk and that other guy.. But they haven't utilized them that way under Arians..

Not sure what you see in GB that makes you think that they would be tough..

Of the teams with 7+ wins, their defense is the worst having allowed 163 points. Their Run defense is one of the worst in the league allowing 4.8 ypc. Their pass defense isn't that great either...

I'll be honest. I see GB being one and done come the play-offs..

Rephase...Trading one of Gilly, 2 McCourtys, JC, Wang Chung, JJ and Harmon would be pure stupidity on a grand scale.
