Jeff Howe: Pats in market for a WR and TE

Not entirely accurate, but funny nonetheless.

Rapoport being over Lombardi who called so many situations (Sherman and the Seahawks, Miami and Landry..) weeks really is absurdity.

I can’t decide if I want the Bucs to win or lose today.
If Howard is not playing today and the Bucs lose ... does that help or hurt the chances of him being traded to us? If they win without him...maybe they will think they don’t need him. But if they lose another game and the season looks lost...maybe they will be more willing to trade for draft picks.

Just give them a first, look at it this way would you draft OJ at 32?

Not having a 1 or 2 in next years draft would be painful but let’s just say the patriots believe that this is Brady’s last year with them, with his money coming off of the books, they will have more freedom to fill holes in the roster through free agency.

On the other hand, if they believe that he will be playing one more season most likely, they will not have to worry about drafting a TE high in the draft.

From Tampa’s perspective, it sounds like they are ready to move on from Winston, so an extra late first round pick would come in handy, if they want to trade into the top five of the draft in order to pick their quarterback of the future.

If we can choose between Howard and Engram?
I think Engram?

I like Howard's size at 6'6" and 255 lbs. He also has a better career catch percentage at 70% compared to Engram's 62%...and he's a better blocker. Basically he's a better TE in every aspect.

I always felt Engram was the better receiving talent
He bailed Manning out of many terrible throws with his athleticism

OK. Percentage wise this...Howard 70% compared to Engram's 62%.

It's too bad we couldnt poach Goedart from the Eagles.

Or draft him ourselves.
It’s crazy we completely bypassed tight end the last 2 drafts

It's not really "crazy." They approached filling TE with free agents. I had Foster Moreau in my mock drafts at 4/32 (which was traded away but would have been one after Stidham). He would have been an asset. So would Beck had he not been signed away by the Broncos. In either case though, the Patriots weren't getting the star TEs in the draft.

Strong game for Eifert today. He may be a lower cost option at TE.
