Gordon to IR

What is this “minor” IR I’ve never heard of before?!?

They have invested in D and are 7-0.

Yup and now the Pats face some post season completion.

KC,Dallas, Baltimore, Houston, maybe Filthadelphia

It was the Green Bay Sunday night game. 8:20 kickoff and Gordon waltzed through the player lot at 6:35. It was very weird.
Maybe Pats should've let him show up late more often, lmao.

Well that sucks for the Pats because he had the highest yards/catch on the team.

Some should start a when is Gordon coming back thread. AB had 5.

I nominate you.

As soon as I finish this blunt with my boy Josh (exhale).

People really questioning BB over this decision is hilarious.

Dont be foolish

Sanu will play inside and out. So will Edelman. Gordon caught at least 3 passes on slants across the middle where Sanu has excelled.

Mohamed Sanu is not a typical slot receiver, he’s ‘another cheat code’ for the Falcons

Virtually all of Sanu's success has come from the slot. He only lines up outside on occasion.
Whereas Edelman lines up all over the field and catches a lot of balls outside the #'s. JE11 lines up outside the slot far more than Sanu.
Yes Gordon catches some slants just like Sanu. But he plays outside, goes deep. That's what Harry does.
Meyers is great and has size, but he's also primarily a slot.
Harry is the only wr on the roster who replicated most of what Gordon does.
So, again, for you to flatly state that Harry coming back had nothing to do with BB cutting Gordon, is ridiculous.
No one will think less of you if you admit when you are wrong. Quite the contrary.

New rule put out in 2016 I think. Search on it, but it allows for non serious injuries to be disposition by teams if they think they don't need the player on 53 but can't cut him because he is injured.

People keep coming back to this stuff.

here is my question : how many more wins would NE have with (1) a TE (2) a better WR corps (3) AB-Gordon-Gronk ?
0 now.

Maybe more by February.

This is the last game we’ll be without Harry. We didn’t have the Gordon of 2013.

Gordon was decent last year.
Not as effective this year, probably due to the knee.
Bottom line is he just can't beat out JE11(duh), Sanu, Dorsett, Myers or Harry for a spot. Or even Gunner right now. The guy is obviously hurt.
BB made the only decision that made sense.

I would have released LaCosse and rolled with Watson and Izzo. Heck...Gordon is 230-235 lbs and slower now...he could've been a move TE.

It's for when players break a nail during practice.

This season has featured some of the oddest roster decisions in the Belichick era.

We couldn’t wait three weeks for Gordon to heal up?

The WR position is thin enough as it is. He had to IR him to keep a JAG like Tomlinson on the roster? Why?

WR position is not thin. That's why. How is Gordon, Harry, Sanu, Edelman, Dorsett, Myers, Gunner thin. 7 WRs are probably two too many. Someone had to go. Who would you cut. Edelman and Harry are locks for obvious reasons. Sanu was needed after Dorsett was injured, Gordon was injured, and Harry hadn't come back yet, and Gunner was injured etc. Once Sanu is onboard, who of those 7 I posted above will you let go. You can't keep all 7. With Harry returning you have to kick someone out. Unless you want Harry to not return, which also seems wrong.

The WR position is not thin. Just a lot of injuries and a lot of people moving around. And a lot of rookies which are promising but have some ramp-up time / learning curve. Gordon got left out instead of e.g. Dorsett or Myers (Gunner also returns punts).

With all that said, please can we bring back AB!

The entire offense has underwhelmed, so you’re not really proving a thing.

At the end of the day, you can’t justify keeping JAG Tomlinson on the roster over Josh Gordon. It’s not humanly possible to make that argument.

You’re twisting yourself into a pretzel to try and justify this decision and it’s quite odd.

Pass offense is ranked #5 and Total offense #10. Despite being in blowout wins and shutting down in 4th Q.

I guess for you it's top 3 / break records or bust.

I never stated that Sanu did not primarily play slot or that his success in Atlanta came from another position. Atlanta moved Sanu to the slot after he was traded from Cincinnati - reference the link that I posted. On the Bengals, Sanu played outside filling in for Marvin Jones when he was injured.

Cleveland, Atlanta and the New York Giants are among the teams expected to express interest in signing Sanu, who has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Bengals after being a 2012 third-round pick out of Rutgers. Sanu posted modest receiving totals last season with 33 catches for 394 yards as his role in the offense diminished with the return of wide receiver Marvin Jones and tight end Tyler Eifert from injuries that sidelined them in 2014.

Sanu has experience playing outside. The Pats will interchange Sanu and Edelman inside and out and be creative like always.

I dont think any less of you falsely claiming that Harry is the only WR on the Pats that supposedly gets deep. Dorsett is a deep threat WR because he has speed. Brady just threw Dorsett a deep TD pass vs the Jets and also last AFCC vs the Chiefs. Gordon was slow as molasses. Harry is no speed demon himself. NFL Draft & Combine Profile - N'Keal Harry | NFL.com

The acquisition of Sanu allowed Gordon to be shown the door. Gordon was the #2 WR in terms of targets and Sanu replaces Gordon as the # 2 now. Gordon was gone regardless of Harry. You can call it an even swap but I dont. Nobody is certain what Harry will do, but we know what Gordon did and we know what Sanu can do.

Sanu replaced Gordon.

So Gordon is just gonna suddenly start playing te, a position he's never played, halfway thru the season?
You really think he could pull that off?
Just a wild guess here, but do you think the GOAT coach would've tried that if it was actually doable? Smh
