Michael Bennett TRADED TO DALLAS!!!!

Agree. I put Wise, Bennett and maybe Chase in the 4-3 pure DE bucket and Simon and Calhoun in the "Edge" bucket.

At some point I see Wino as an Edge but the team is keeping him purely as a pass rush specialist for mow
I don’t think there is really such a definition because they are interchangeable.
I mean there no 43 or 34.
On first and second it’s 2 DTs plus 4 other guys and we use very different combinations. We use all of those players plus HT, KVN and Collins on the edge.
Somehow BB has different personnel packages for different purposes, it’s just not close to clear what those are.

Let's hope Bennett and the Pats kiss I mean shake hands and make up. Injuries will come to the Defensive side of the ball sooner or later. We have really good dept and I wouldn't want it to significantly drop off minus Bennett.

...Why not give up a 5th and make the deal that the Rams did and get a potential starting caliber C/G on a rookie contract. THAT's the kind of deal we should be making,..
Yep, I really Really liked that trade for LA.

...The passing offense is ranked 5th and the patriots lead the league in scoring.
Please stop repeatedly typing those words, as if doing so will bring more validity to your weak-ass argument...you're embarrassing yourself otherwise.

I’m sorry I didn’t realize that actual football performance on a football field was a “weak-ass” argument and not having feelings of impending doom while the team is succeeding is embarrassing.
Sorry guess I’ve been paying too much attention to the football field when assessing football.

All true, BUT it is simplistic to think that all we are doing in 2 gapping from a 3 man front. What we are doing is much more complex than that. Things that can use the skill set that Bennett has. No one on this team can do what Bennett as SHOWN he can do. There WILL be times when those skills will be needed and that is why he will not be traded.

Bennett isn't the first guy who bristled at the way he was being used. Branch and Shelton are 2 that come to mind. Both needed time to settle in and become productive. How many times have we heard that this is NOT an easy place to play. It takes some time for the players AND coaches to adjust to each other. Bennett's combative nature pushed the conflict to the point of suspension. Not good. But it seems like the lesson was learned and BB's point made. All should be good when he's back for Cleveland.

Let's hope so. I do agree there is a place for him here as a specialist, provided he accepts that role.

You're math is wrong. There are 11 weeks left, not 8.

AJ Green would be a cap hit of 7.76M
Sanders would be a cap hit of 6.6M

At the 10/29 trading deadline...there will be 9 weeks left of football (week 8 would have just finished on MNF with 17 to go).

It’s hard for athletes to always leave their emotions at the door. He’s a smart guy, a 1 game suspension for the blowup should be taken as, “we like you so let’s try and make this work.”

You seem to believe that the defense and special teams had little to do with the patriots being number one in scoring.

Yes, we would be greatly improved by acquiring a receiver who might perform as well as Dorsett.

If you think the Patriots are going to wait that long to bring someone in, then you're fooling yourself..

Why would they NOT wait that long? The trading deadline is right after we play Cleveland and before we go to Baltimore. So, say...we bring in AJ Green...and hold him out of the Baltimore game...then get him up to speed during the BYE week...then unleash him on the Eagles in Philly?

AJ Green is barely practicing right now....if he returns for Cincinnati...it won't be until 10/27 at the earliest, IMO. So, by having AJ Green running routes out there in weeks 11-17 sure gives him enough time to get acclaimed with the offense for the post-season, no?

When did I say that? We have scored as many offensive TDs as the chiefs though.
Most importantly we play the rest of the year with our defense.

So in your opinion this is about wr4 and relegating Harry to the bench?
I’d rather see Harry get experience and I think we are probably better with him knowing the system than a wr4 caliber guy coming in the learn.

I disagree. They just made multiple roster moves. They will take the Jets game to see how they work and then start shopping after that. It could take to the deadline to find the right deal.

I must say... if Bennett is an ass with a historical defense.. at 6-0, and has issues at this point? He is a loser unless he turns it around and burns this issue up

This reminds me of how Harrison wanted out of PIT because he wasn't getting snaps that he claims were promised by the Tripper. Tripper wanted to go with the young guns and James wasn't having it. These guys are proud, want to contribute, and definately are beasts. Don't know the details of the situation, but I really hope they can work this out. Bennett is a talented player and from what my non-expert eyes have seen, he still has it.

OK, we'll listen. When do you expect us to bring in a WR?

Full interview here with Bennett.

Not a fan of his attitude.
