I think first rounders are being seen as much less valuable than they used to be. I suppose it could be for a number of reasons : the many lower picks/UFA doing well, talent depth, the draft being a crapshoot... but for the last two/three seasons, teams that think they can win have been throwing away first rounders like crazy.
