Watson won’t be activated - he is now a Free Agent

The god of ties not getting shown any respect as per usual even though people are lukewarm on him for the most part.

A tie is "like kissing your sister" right? That's one of the big no-nos in the Bible. (And everywhere else outside of Indianapolis).

Ergo, there can be no God of the Tie. Ties are pagan.

.

He got $458k out of it.

He'll be fine.

The guy's 38, retires, and takes doctor prescribed drugs to help heal for his future.

Team talks him out of retirement, and Watson warns them of suspension.

Patriots cut him immediately after suspension.

The team didn't commit any crime, but maybe Watson feels a little humiliated. Perhaps his family has heard cheater allegations. And now he looks like one of those guys who will do anything to stay in the game when they're washed up, which I don't think was the reality at all.

458K for a guy with 32 million career earnings. Think he felt is was worth it or fair?

Well, I'll have to eat crow on this one. Didn't see this coming- thought they were conserving him for Thursday.

Could be a harbinger of a forthcoming trade, though?

Let’s check in on the Sports Hub

“Mike, Ryan Izzo SUCKS! Ben Watson is not walking through that door.”

“Sorrreeey homers, I just don’t see how this team matches up with the Colts and the Chiefs and the Seahawks.”

You’re putting too much emphasis on winning or losing. All that matters is that everyone had fun.

If they had just kept AB we wouldn't have these problems

I’m assuming this a cap related move. I thought he showed enough to still have it in camp.

Ah, thanks Patchick for the clarification.
Side note: there's one possible problem with that argument if this is doctor prescribed TRT (bio-identical hormone replacement). An endo or urologist is unlikely to prescribe at a 'rule break' level (supraphysiological). With that, the only time it would be supra/rule break level is if you do the replacement via injections, and with that in the first 24 or so hours after that the blood serum level can spike pretty high (up into lowest levels of first time amateur body builder). He did an injection within 24 hours of a test? ;-)
So unless Watson was at an anti aging type clinic that deals with purposefully keeping serum level up really high, Watson's argument may not jive.
OTOH, if he was using Growth Hormone from a doctor (possible), a doctor keeping levels above normal human (albeit they would put it highest normal) is again an anti aging thing and unlikely just an endo practitioner you found on yelp :).

Coming from this old guy who does TRT, you really do not know what you’re talking about...

There are different esters that release the hormone at different rates (half lives). If you are symptomatic with low T levels, your endocrinologist will most likely start at lower doses (100-150 mg average weekly dose with a cypionate or blended ester). They don’t go into bodybuilder territory which is usually a minimum of 500 mg weekly.

They test for ratios of test:epitest or for artificial test metabolites in your system.

I’m guessing he was low T (quite possibly from using and not getting caught over the years) from fried gonads and was symptomatic. Now, he goes to his endo or a men’s clinic to start therapy. He probably admitted this to NFL powers-that-be, and was suspended for admission alone, but possible he was tested. Replacement therapy will probably put him in normal-to-high normal test levels, but not this “Supra human” level you speak of.

This is probably what happened..

Not sure.

I have a ton of respect for Watson. For me personally I think this move was all about maximizing the roster and cap space. Nothing more.

Of all people Watson should know how everything that happens in Foxboro is all about business- nothing more.

If Izzo or LaCosse was an epic fail or hurt, he'd be on the team.

So "cap savings" so bill can trade for 4th receiver, think Keshawn Martin...a jag who can catch 2 passes a game and play special teams....

Is Watson a Patriots hall of fame candidate?

Me too.

Izzo actually played good. 2 targets - 2 receptions - 1 TD

Lacosse logged in 73 or 78 possible snaps. 4 targets - 1 reception - 0 points

I’m looking at players still on rookie contracts for possible trades. A Wr/TE pairing I’m warming up to is Anthony Miller and Austin Hooper. Cap hits right around 4 combined. You got Robinson and Gabriel there, question is would Chicago give up on miller for a mid round pick?
TEN WR Corey Davis

Could you imagine if you actually rooted for a ****ty football team? You’d be dead by now. Either that or confined to a wheelchair after a thunderous stroke.
